aliasojo mine are in one and they're doing fine in the west mids

The dalek in my nan's garden (the one i'm planting in) is awful at keeping rats out! i found a dead one in there recently, squeezed in through where the trap door had buckled a bit :rotfl:

mbe i love the idea of planting things in the buckets, where do you get the soil?
doesn't look like i'll be able to get an allotment or much of a garden (that i can actually did) at my new house so enjoying these alternative planting ideas.

I forgot to mention earlier that my sister ripped up loads of raddish seedlings when we were weeding! She tried to put them back in but they'll probably die.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Have you not been paying attention?

I'm digging a pond, and sieving what I dig out. :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Yup. The soil's very compact, so when you dig it out it seems to expand. I've taken a very good bootload to the tip too - that's just the good stuff! ;)

I have used bought multi-purpose compost before, but that's a flippin' expensive way of doing things. I used a 50-50 mix last year. This year I'm spending nowt. :p

I've never had one, but my uncle Bob reckon's they're useless too. He's got two daleks and throws his waste directly onto the vegetable plot. :rotfl:
Another plus for Daleks here. We have 2 and we get one full Daleks worth of compost each year and if it's warm we get even more. Tell Uncle Bob he ain't keeping his worms happy. :D

confused now. I currently have an old bin full (with worms and holes drilled in it). Should I just leave it for a year or so and let magic happen?

Well you have to work at it. Heavy duty weld mesh under the bottom and up over the door, then bricks round it, over the mesh.

    Works 100%
