Hi DawnW, sorry to hear about another funeral. It brings many things home to roost when you lose someone.
Glad you found the book, I was thinking when I read your post that it was something I would do
I have also turned in for the night. Up at 0450 and I can't function well with such little sleep. Glad you avoided the tractor, don't get too many of them where I am but I can imagine at that time of the day, it was a bit of a surprise.
Neary Friday night :j

Hi Dawn, what a good thread, really inspirational. Been following it up since the start. It is my first post ever here though have been on this website for 3 years. I will subscribe to your thread as soon as I find out how to do it. We are trying to overpay our mortgage, too. No diary though but every time I need a bit of inspiration and motivation I just read other people's diaries. Keep posting, find it so enjoyable to read about your routines, recipes ,etc. Thank you.0

Hi DCT,
I have been a member for years as well, and this is my first diary. I can thoroughly recommend it as a motivational tool
I did it really just to keep myself motivated, and never dreamed that anyone else would be interested in reading it to be honest  - though I do have the odd good recipe to throw in every now and again
Today:
Bleurrgh day at work - end of a pretty much identical week
But on the plus side, it HAS ended, and next one might be better
And I do realise that I am lucky to have a job
Porridge for breakfast with some fruit from the fridge
Packed lunch to work - cheese and HM bean pickle sandwiches
'Fridge bottom' frittata with some new potatoes and frozen runner beans from stash for supper - doesn't sound at all posh round here, does it, but this could have passed off as such
It had chorizo, spring onions and chopped fresh tomatoes in it (from bottom of fridge, spring onions had seen better days to be honest
, with some parsley from the pot on the patio
with eggs (obviously) and a handful of grated parmesan or the Aldi equivalent - not too far off actually
Grandson 1's birthday - 17 today
How old am I
Paid for his first provisional driving licence for his present
Must ring friend in France to let her know the dates we are visiting
Must also ring Thompson and Morgan and find out what has happened to my order - no email confirmation, can't log in - but they have taken money from my credit card
Must also do spreadsheets for Feb as we are now in March
Ring C&G next week for a new balance :j
OH has clipped the dog and the next door neighbour thinks she now feels like a 'bus seat' :rotfl::rotfl:
Both chickens now laying

OH and I both got up at stupid o'clock because we couldn't sleep
And to think I moan about having to get up on work days
Must get on - loads to do today

) not yet
[STRIKE]

Done some of the things on my list from earlier today, anyway
:)
Received a cheque from Zapper in the post, from decluttered books
OH also received a cheque from one of the shops which sell the things that he makes - he doesn't sell many, and obviously has to pay tax on his profits, but every little helps. He is expecting another cheque next week as well

Just updated my signature

I am going to have to up my game if I am going to get it paid off this year though
Still, why not aim high
OH is away tonight so I will just have mushrooms on toast for supper, I think
Managed to leave work early due to a medical appointment but must use the extra time by cleaning the bathroom, doing the ironing and paying the cc bill
All outstanding phone calls done though

Ironing will have to wait

Done the other bits though
Off to bed soon as I have to get up at 5.30 to get on the train for an early meeting, I am shattered and it is only Monday
Will run a bath, and while that is doing print out meeting papers, student's chapters to read on the train and a map to where I am supposed to be going, as the printer at work is broken - again!!!
I found a fabulous thread on one of the other boards called '60 minutes a day in a more productive way', which is brilliant for me as a serial procrastinator - the idea is you set yourself 1 hour aside a day to work on specific tasks, as an alternative to messing about on the net or watching telly. I am glad to see I am not the only timewaster on here, and thoroughly recommend it to anyone similarly inclined!!0 -
Right, off to London in a minute for 2 meetings.
I have printed out student's chapters to read on the train :A
DD2 and her OH are coming for dinner tonight - OH still away visiting his Mum, so there will be 3 of us. Venison casserole out of freezer, table laid, wine, plum cake and cream for pud in fridge - just have to boil up some new potatoes and veg when I get in
Washing in machine - pity I won't be here to peg it outside, but I can put it out tomorrow if fine.
Must put the bin out in a minute
Thanks to the poster who started the '60 minutes a day in a more productive way' thread!
Must dash, I need to leave in less than half an hour, and not dressed yet :eek:0 -
Here I am again, sitting here in my dressing gown putting off going to work for as long as possible

Had a nice meal with DD and her OH yesterday evening
My OH will be back from visiting his Mum this evening. He went for a few days to see her on her birthday and catch up with his sis, with whom she lives. I couldn't get the time off work - I have holiday booked for next month as it is - so stayed here. It has been very quiet without him and the dog, whom he took with him.
Managed to get to the bank yesterday between meetings, to pay in a cheque from OH's work and another from Zapper for some books I decluttered. I have decided to pay half off the mortgage and half into savings (OH's income tax payment will come from these anyway when we do his self assessment thingy) once the money has cleared
Not much planned on the MFW front today, but will try not to spend anything (I don't think I need to buy anything).
I will grab a free paper to read on the train
Pasta with meatballs and HM tomato sauce from the freezer for tonight's meal for OH and I, so no spends (and minimal effort) there. There is a little plum cake left for afters if we have room, and some cream
Really must send feedback to student as I looked through her work on the train yesterday - I have been meaning to do this for a couple of weeks
Hopefully her other (main) supervisor has been more prompt
Well, better get on - downhill all the way to the weekend after today

You have such a busy life, I'm surprised you get to post at all.
Keep chipping away, it will get there.
All the best.
