Update - made the spinach and feta pie, and the plum cake, but the other jobs will be for tomorrow I think

DD says she does want the freezer, and has invited herself and her OH over for the curry tomorrow :rotfl:
Off for a nice bath now I think!0 -
Freezer beast has now gone  DD2 and her OH popped in, polished off curry and plum cake, and took it away with them. DH gave it a good clean beforehand, as it needed defrosting, and the outside needed a good wipe from being in the garage
.
So, down to just the freezer bit of a 50/50 fridge freezer, which lives in the kitchen. No more trudging down to the garage in the cold to get something out for tomorrow's meal.
Had a nice relaxing day, did some gardening - planted out some broad bean and sweet pea plants I got at the car boot sale this morning, watered where needed - still no rain, and the water butts are running down
It was freezing (literally) first thing, but lovely by the afternoon. I sat in the garden and prepared the vegetables for our curry, and read for a while. Haven't done much housework though
Monday again tomorrow
But a short week - finish for the Easter holiday on Wednesday, and not back till the following Tuesday :T
Enough curry left to fill jacket spuds for tomorrow evening, and I found a plastic pot of leftover casserole which will do for lunch tomorrow as I am in the office all day - so no sandwiches to make in the morning.
Must make a date with myself to do the spreadsheets tomorrow after work. Also try to make a smallish OP, maybe £100. Can't do much as we have a holiday coming up in the middle of the month.0 -
Must get off to work in a minute.
However, I intend not to be too late home.
I must:
Find the phone number for the kitchen fitter to get the new leak under the kitchen sink fixed
Get OH to get an electrician to look at the light and extractor in the ensuite, which for some reason don't work. Electrical things in a small shower room demand professional attention I think
Water anything in the garden that needs it
Pot up tomato seedlings and place in new temporary home in the lean-to
Spinach and feta pie, new potatoes and veg for evening meal - decided to save last night's curry leftovers for tomorrow.
Spreadsheets!
Right, if I get all that done as well as a day at work I will be pleased with myself!0 -
Hi Dawn, just caught up with your diary as I've had a hectic time and not been reading many diaries recently. You're doing really well and I'm very jealous of your ability to make little ops whenever you have the money - can't wait to remortgage and be able to do that too

Sorry about all the funerals - they have a way of draining you don't they.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Hi DawnW. Just caught up with your diary again. I just don't know how you fit it all in??!!!
I've been guilty before of trying to do everything myself, but DH told me that if I want something doing, I am only to ask him.
But thats the thing - you have to ask, they won't just do it!
Well done for emptying the freezer - I am still at mine!
Bet you are looking forward to your holiday - I know I'm looking forward to having a break at Easter.

One more day until I finish for Easter :j:j:j
That means a hectic day at work tomorrow though
I have had to postpone my 10 am telecon till 4pm due to having to babysit the CEO in a random meeting  Other meetings mean that I won't escape early after all as the telecon won't even start till 4pm
Sorry if that sounds really lazy, but I constantly work over hours - we allegedly have flexi time, but from my experience it is flexible from one side only. I try to recoup some hours by leaving early where possible.
Well, at least I am home at a reasonable time this evening. Curry leftovers and jacket spuds tonight
So, no complicated cooking, and I will try to do some reorganisng in the dining room after - the dresser looks like a bomb has hit it  Also some dusting
Also today - not spent much, only a much needed coffee at the station. I don't normally do that but was shattered this morning and only had time for one cup at home. I might have to buy some wine though
And no doubt OH has been spending :rotfl:Though he has done the hoovering and cleaned the bathroom :T, so will let him off this time.
Did a pinecone survey, first one for a while, so there is a little OP waiting to happen
as they pay straight away into a paypal account. I used to belong to quite a few survey companies, but only do pinecone and yougov now, as I simply don't get the time.
Looked at our finances last night and I will have to take some money from savings to pay for our holiday  I was hoping to be able to cover it without, but won't. It won't be an expensive holiday, but will involve some extra spending. I just hate having to dip into savings - I will have to a bit later this year big time, as our roof will need doing, but had hoped not to till then.
Oh well, you can't take it with you I suppose :rotfl:0 -
Having to dip into your savings for the holiday is not so bad! That's what savings are for.
Hope you have a nice time.
As far as the roof is concerned, well thats what savings are for too! At least you won't have to go into debt.

Finished work until next Tuesday - in theory. I am only back in next Tuesday and Wednesday though, then off until 26th. There is a ridiculous amount to do between now and next Wednesday though , so will have to spend at least one day over the Easter break working
Anyway, at least I don't have the horrible commute and the office politics to contend with for a few days
I can cope with the work :rotfl:
DD1 and her two little ones are coming tomorrow, so I must do some cooking in a minute, so I can feed them and not have to spend ages in the kitchen when they get here. So, a quiche and scones to make tonight.
Better get on once I have had a quick look around the other diaries and drunk my coffee

Spendy day today - DD and her two little ones came to visit, and I took them to the toy shop to buy the forgotten birthday present

Ths littlest one, who is not quite 2, is like a small bulldozer, and made her way round the shop bulldozing things off the shelves with poor grandma running along behind putting them back :rotfl:
The elder one, (5, the birthday girl) chose a fluffy toy cat and an umbrella, and the little bulldozer wanted a zebra
Exhausted now, having put the house back together after the depredations of the small bulldozer :rotfl:
Must now look online to see what the requirements are for driving in France - it sounds as though you need so much equipment and spare parts there will hardly be room for OH and I in my little car  Perhaps we should have taken the big truck instead, but decided on the little one as it is cheaper on the ferry. Hope we can fit us, dog in travelling crate, luggage and half of Halfords in ok
Made quiches and scones, which went down well, and have a quiche left for tomorrow

Lazy morning - didn't get up till 7.45

Cooked breakfast for a treat - small one for me!
I need to pot all the seedlings I have grown - tomatoes, peppers, chillis and basil. I also planted aubergines but they haven't appeared, or not yet anyway. I will need to rehome some (tomatoes and peppers anyway), as there are too many for my needs.
It is sunny outside at the moment, though the sky is getting a bit grey. If it stays nice, I might go for a long walk later with OH and the dog, to walk off that breakfast
Loving being at home
