  • Larder cupboard sounds fab. Enjoy London - I worked there for years and enjoy going in for meetings and stuff with the kids occasionally but wouldn't want to be there 5 days a week. Hopefully you won't be traveling as much next week :)

Only up twice next week from the looks of my diary. It can change at short notice though!

On the plus side, it is rarely boring, once I get there that is. I get to visit interesting places and meet interesting people by and large (interesting because of what they do and know, not necessarily personally). The journey is pretty boring though!

Got to get on in a minute - not even dressed yet

    Friday tomorrow :j

Larder shelves sound lovely - I'm sure Kirstie Allsopp would like them too! :)

My DH has been in London since Tuesday. He doesn't like it much. I've worked there occasionally. I must admit, I don;t mind visiting on an infrequent basis for shopping/ theatre etc but couldn't work or live there. I like the slower pace in the SW! :D

Managed to get back early for once, plus my Monday meeting has been postponed till later next week :j

Back up there again tomorrow though - but at least it will be Friday :D

Just got my updated balance - £20,707.71.

    Must update signature :j

Felt so motivated, I have just made a £200 OP :T :rotfl:
That will show up on next month's update :D

We are going to a cousin's 40th wedding anniversary / double 60th birthday celebrations (both her and her OH this year, but not on the same day) on Sunday, so I need to get them a present. I have no idea what to get. Must think about that a bit more :)

OH did some work this morning for a small local company he sometimes works for, and came back with a big bag of pork trimmings (the company is a butchers business that does free range meat). Must think what to do with those. They are like spare rib bits / offcuts, so I am guessing I will make a barbecue sauce to cook them in - probably tomorrow, I am thinking, but will look for recipes tonight.

Loving the larder :D I just need to sort out the kitchen now

OH has finished the work he was doing on the guest room ensuite shower room, and I now have a shower curtain to shorten  Sewing and I do not get on (hate it) but it is far too long as it is, and it is not as if it is a difficult job, even for someone as cack-handed as me :rotfl:

I am a bit shattered today, so haven't done much :o

Made an apple cake, fed the chickens and tidied up a bit, but that is about it.

OH had a rather spendy day at an auction  The item he went to bid for went higher than he had hoped. Still, it is nice, (it is a cupboard for the smaller spare room / study) and a nice antique / vintage item for the price of a high street one (or less) that wouldn't last for half the time it has been around.

So, I had to move some money to avoid the joint account going overdrawn

On a brighter note, I sold a book on Amazon, so £6 for the OP fund :)

OH and I went to my cousin's 40th wedding anniversary party today - they did an afternoon barbecue / buffet so that friends and relatives could bring along their the little children, which I thought was nice :) especially as they were all extremely good :A

We managed to get the shopping done before we went, which was quite good organisation on our part, as it is a 100 odd mile journey. I bought a nice bottle of champagne for a gift in the end. If I had got around to going to the garden centre, I might have chosen a nice rose or something for their garden, but it didn't happen, so a bottle it was!

Got stuff to do ready for the morning - doesn't it come round quickly :(

Up most of the night with a horrible sore throat and cough, so I will take today off work. I always feel guilty when I do that :o but I do feel poorly, and have external meetings from tomorrow onwards, so hoping to be able to do these, if I have a rest today.

It looks as though it will be a nice day, so looking forward to sitting in the sun for a while with my box of tissues, strepsils and inhaler for my asthma that is always much worse when I get these things
  • Hi Dawn, I am asthmatic too and my Dr gave me a spacer to use, with my inhalers, whenever I have colds, flu etc as it increases the effectiveness of the medication. As I often used to get bronchitis resulting in steroids, this has been a big help and has prevented the need for antibiotics quite a few times.

Hope you feel better soon, Tilly x
