A nice day for a change :j It is amazing how much better a bit of sunshine makes you feel :)

    Today:

Waited in this morning for the electrician to come and finish off (he said either yesterday pm or today, and he didn't turn up yesterday ). Needless to say, he didn't turn up again. There is only a tiny amount left to do (as he didn't have the right kind of wire with him when he last came) and a cheque waiting for him here.... you would think he would turn up, wouldn't you??

Anyway, as we had to wait in, we thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and bathroom :A cooker, wiped cupboards down, windowsills, the lot. OH even cleaned the thingies out of the cooker hood . So, at least that is done :D

Went to see DD2 once we decided the electrician wasn't going to appear, to help her eat cake and clip some chickens' wings :rotfl:Our dog loves going there, as DD has so many pets. She can choose what to stare at; ferrets, rat, guines pigs, and does so all the time we are there :rotfl:She doesn't bother about the chickens as we have those as well (so must be boring :rotfl:).

Shopping at Ald!, spent just over £26, but didn't get everything, still need a few more bits but not necessary today.

Got 2 lots of washing dry on the line :D

We had our evening meal outside in the garden, lovely fresh bread, salads from the garden, more of the sausage mountain (now thankfully almost gone, apart from an andouille which I don't like the idea of at all ) and some nice cheese. And a glass or two of wine :D

I must get my act together and move the direct debits to my new FD account and ditch S*tander. It has been hanging around for ages to sort out

Still waiting for my fablon to come from ebay so I can line the larder shelves and sort the kitchen out and get all my preserves down from the loft :(

STILL haven't phoned C&G for a balance so I can update my signature!

I love liver, black pudding and haggis, but I agree, there are limits .
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I've just googled andouille as I'd never heard of it & I thought the description sounded quite nice, unless there's something else I don't know about!! :rotfl:

There was a macaroni cheese recipe with chopped andouille & cajun seasoning added which sounded rather yummy.

Or is it a case of ignorance is bliss?? :o

It is made entirely of innards (tripe, ie stomach and intestines), which has put me off a bit :o It is the French one, and not the rather nice sounding cajun spiced one (I googled to see what you meant). It looks black and scary  We were very kindly invited to look around the place where it is made, as my OH is interested in that kind of thing. Not for me I am afraid :o

    Nice weather again today :j

We have spent most of it in the very small ensuite shower room in the loft conversion though, fitting a shower rail, which is very fiddly in such a confined space! Seems a bit of a waste of a nice day, but OH couldn't do all the holding, measuring etc without my help, and it is back to work for me tomorrow, so today it had to be!

I have made a cake though - a sponge with clotted cream and strawberry conserve filling (there goes my diet again )

Now cooking dinner - some thick pork chops which I am doing in the oven, crushed roasted Jersey Royals and spring cabbage :)

A bit of watering (in the little greenhouse) in between :)

Oh dear, I've changed my mind, I didn't see that bit!! _pale_

Now the cake, well that's a different matter altogether, that sounds very naughty but nice!!

You would think they were guarding against a mysterious benefactor who was plotting to pay off other people's mortgages :rotfl:

How do we find one of these please? :rotfl:

I am second in the queue for handouts from this omnipotent benefactor. :rotfl: If only banks were this generous rather than hitting the pockets of unsuspecting customers with fine-print and underhand charges.

Still haven't had chance to phone C&G :o

Got an unclear but slightly snotty letter today from the Council tax people, about a refund they paid us after we had moved last year, that they shouldn't have done. They did indeed pay a refund, that we hadn't asked for, or expected. They said that our account was overpaid on the previous property, so we assumed it was  Perhaps we shouldn't have believed them :p

Not sure what is going on (or precisely what they want us to do about it), and the person who signed the unfathomable letter wasn't available when I rang, and when they eventually decide to ring back (probably next year), I will no doubt be at work  Anyway, they will have to make their minds up and send an understandable letter, with a breakdown of figures, and then I will do something about it.

Work not too bad, and I even got to go out for a walk at lunchtime. Worrying news about more redundancies though :(

OH has been offered some more work by the company he does the daft 1am start London job for (though without such daft hours). He seems quite positive about it.

DD2 came round after work to get help with a presentation for a job interview, the electrician then turned up to finish off, and supper was consequently rushed, so much rubbish consumed :o and I now feel a bit sick :(

Oh dear, not a great day really :o But at least the electrician has finished, we have paid him, and are finally able to put the dining room furniture back in its proper place :T

And whatever happens tomorrow, at least it won't be Monday any more :D

Goodness, isn't it getting busy on here? That is great, because so many of us are paying off our mortgages :D

Shattered, as I had a really early start today and spent lunchtime dashing across London to get the my second meeting :(

Back up there tomorrow AND Friday :(

Sometimes I think I am too old for this lark :rotfl:

OH has finished the larder, painted the door in a lovely soft grey eggshell, and lined the shelves with spotted, flowery and two checked patterns of sticky back plastic so I can wipe them off. I had thought about doing them with oilcloth (and still might later), but using the cheaper option for now.

Also reorganised the kitchen a bit, as the cupboards are now empty of food :T

Quite energetic I think, given my early start :rotfl:

OH made ham and vegetable soup for supper, using the instructions I left him written down :)

STILL haven't got my balance updated.

Must also investigate another OP, as the bills have all gone out now. Still rather a long time to payday though... still, I could manage a small one :D

Off to bed for me I think, as my alarm will go off at 5 am again tomorrow
