Pregnancy worries: male's perpective - help appreciated!

update: no more spotting - which has been a relief.
we met the midwife earlier in the week - again all good.
However, this morning my wife woke up and said she didn't sleep well, that she had been up all night worrying. I asked her why and she said that she no longer feels that her breast are sore (which she knows might come and go) and that they also feel normal to the touch I.e. No longer dense/heavy/full. Those symptoms and hunger were the only pregnancy symptoms she was getting - so she is understandably concerned. She is going to phone the midwife. Hope all is ok.0 -
I only had sore breasts once or twice in this pregnancy I am 23 weeks pregnant with twins. I had no sickness, no food cravings (there was time when I wanted watermelon, I even asked OH last night if I am blocking something about the strange foods I wanted), nothing. The only thing taht hit me was the tiredness. I could sleep for 16 hours a day if allowed and it still wasn't enough. I am usually tired and never last long in he evenings, but this was more than usual. I got my bloods checked at 17 weeks and found out my iron levels were low, which explained the tiredness. But I had nothing else I could account for being pregnant. If I didn't see the babies in the scan, I wouldn't believe I am pregnant.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

I had spotting all the way through my first pregnancy. I was 16 weeks pregnant before i found out ! It was hilarious, i was immediately advised to rest once the test was done ! Before i found out, we'd flown to Lanzarote and i'd been horribly drunk a couple of times as it was my 30th birthday whilst we were there ! I'd dived off diving boards and been on a jet ski !
Anyway, son is now a strapping 24 year old ! So, look after Mrs Parsnip, from what you've said, it seems to be going ok, don't worry about bothering your GP or the midwife, they've seen it all before.

I hope all is OK for you both. I guess your wife is about 9 weeks now? That's when my (very few, just hunger and tiredness) symptoms disappeared on both pregnancies, and we have two very wonderful children as a result! I think it is entirely normal but a call to the midwife will hopefully put your minds at rest.
It seems strange to actually want symptoms like sickness and so on, but they are reassuring. I can understand the worry when they disappear but there will come a time when they go and for many women it's sooner rather than later.
Please advise your wife NOT to do what I did - don't take another pregnancy test! I took one as my symptoms went and the line was incredibly faint - how I worried! This is apparently normal though, as the hormones drop as the placenta starts to take over (I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong), and I guess the reason for symptoms disappearing too?
All the best for you both.0 -
