oh mothership please could you post up a few of the superfoods if you have a few minutes. Im really not sure what I already eat which is a superfood as I cook everything I eat from scratch, but with all my bloomin allergies, intolerances im prob not getting any
The four star Superfoods
Almonds - rich in protein, zinc , magnesium , potasium iron and some B vitamins.
Apples - the malic and tartaric acid help neutralise the acid -by- products of indigestion. A mono-fast on apples alone for a day or two is recomended for sufferers from diarrhoea, enterocolitis, or mucous colitis.
Apricots
Are loaded with beta-carotene, good for infections.
Artichokes
The friend to the liver/ heart, it is used to treat high blood pressure and lower cholesterol, and also as a diuretic.
Asparagus
Benefits the liver and kidneys recommended for those with rheumatism and arthritis. High in purines (so gout sufferers should avoid). Dress with extra virgin olive oil & lemon juice.
Avocado Pears
Potassium rich with vitamins A B C and some vitamin E great for your skin and circulatory system. Unique antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Banannas
100 calories per fruit packed with potassium, zinc, iron folic acid, calcium + vitamin B6 and are highly beneficial to the digestive tract and are used for treating diarrhoea and constipation. Eat ripe.
Barley
Soothing for inflammatory conditions of the urinary and intestines & treatment of cystitis.
Beetroot (Fresh no vinegar)
It enhances immune resistance, and has been used to treat anaemia, and increases the cellular uptake of oxygen.
A salad of grated beetroot, raw carrot and cucumber dressed with olive oil and lemon juice and garnished with chopped parsley - is a more powerful tonic for general health than a whole bottle of vitamins.
Blueberries
it inhibits pathological bacteria to keep the gut clean and healthy.
Blackcurrants
Rich in vitamin C have bactericidal qualities and an anti-inflammatory action.
Brewers Yeast
Full of B complex vitamins, minerals. With high levels of iron, zinc, manganese, magnesium potasium and protein. It is rich in nucleic acid RNA which is vital to the immune system. Doesn't taste nice, added to a banana milkshake with a teaspoon of honey makes it palatable.
Gout sufferers should avoid as its high in purines.
Broccoli
Belongs to the crucifer family others include cauliflower, kale, radishes, horseradish, cabbage, spring greens, turnip, brussels sprouts and kale. All have protective powers against cancer, seemingly the more of these foods you eat lower your chances of getting colon cancer and the development of other cancers are slowed down.
Rich in iron sufferers of fatigue, anaemia and nervous problems will benefit from having broccoli in their diet.
Buckwheat
High in the flavonoid glycocide rutin, which strengthens and tones the walls of the tiniest blood vessels in your body. Rutin is particularly important in the treatment of high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries, even in small doses (50mg) it is known to lift depression.
And is a combination of sedative and stimulant similar to ginseng.

you're so lovely :A:T:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0 -
Thank you Mothership - I have no ailments but I want to eat more healthily and superfoods sound great.
If anyone is stocking up on cereals I think Morrisons have some offers on - I was in a hurry but I got Shredded Wheat bite size 750g box for £1.37 these are one of hubbys favourites so I will be stocking up - one if the assistants gave me a funny look as I was looking through them to make sure I got the ones with the furthest away use by date!
I will be back in Morrisons later in the week will try and remember to look at the other offers0 -
Ooooo..... that makes them cheaper than the 'better than half price' offer at Mr T (on a per 100g basis). Their's is on the 500g box, and is down from £2.08 to £1. Will have to nip down to my local Mr M before I head to Mr T on Friday to see if they've got any - and if they have I'll have to have a quick re-jig of my Mr T shopping list (which I'm about to do anyway, having noted down the price of the veg I have on it in A!di this afternoon - off to price compare those and sort out shopping lists for Friday
)

Yes definitely better than the T deal - I got hubs some of the shreddies in Mr T as I picked them up thinking they were the shredded wheat I only realised they weren't his fave when I got home but he said no worries he would eat them.0

Woohoo!! :T
I finally remembered to pay out of the Second Purse while I was in a shop :rotfl:
Co op 9 rolls of Kleenex Velvet toilet rolls £2.80 instead of £5.61 (not that I think they were ever REALLY that price)!
I bought 6 packs so 54 loo rolls and when I got home, there was an email from Amazon saying they would deliver the 45 Andrex toilet rolls from last weeks glitch, earlier than expected!
Co op also have Ariel Gel biological/ colour/ with Febreze925ml £4.00 instead of £7.19
I still have some in Sallys Stores but would have bought more but my little Co op didnt have any.
I also found some yellow stickered chicken fillets and posh sausages for the freezer.
I then went to Tesco and made a boob by buying normal shopping from Second Purse so owe SP £10  as well as money for stuff bought from Sallys Stores!0
