jakes-mum get down to morrys for the bog roll :p

Ahh co-0p still got 9 for £3 and with my 10% off that works out at 30p a roll :rotfl::rotfl: and im sure I just read they also have 100% extra free penguins on bogof so looks like I need to make a trip down there :rotfl:

Im so pleased with W@itrose today :D They have the Ramkins G/F sausages on 1/3 off which are totally lush, the closest we've found tastewise to a real sausage, so a pack of 6 big fat ones is £1.79 . . I picked up 2 as I already have 3 boxes in the freezer :o but I will happily pay the £2.69 for them as DS loves them, might have to go back and get more if I can make room in the freezer actually :o

I've started opening the packs when I buy them and wrapping them in 3's in clingfilm then putting them back in the boxes so I remember which are G/F and which arn't :rotfl:got really fed up of having to feed DH the G/F ones cos id frozen them in the packet :rotfl:

Hi Helen,
Last week Felix was 2 for £5, normally £3 each in Mr M... so looks like they've bumped the price up there :(
I'm just going through the spreadsheet now with your offers. Thanks for jotting the offers down, I really appreciate it as I don't have one nearby.
The SMs make me mad when they do things like the felix grrr.

Thanks Kerri. That was the regular Felix and this is the 'posh' one :rotfl: price is usually £4.29 but my cats def prefer it to the normal one (though I did buy a few when they were down from £3.29 to £2.50 ;) They cope every now and then )

Ooh posh nosh for puddy tats :) I don't buy cat food so didn't know, I've updated the spreadsheet accordingly. Just need to work back across the other offers now :) I might keep any that have gone off on the list so we have an idea of whether the latest deal is a good offer or not... might make a "gone off" sheet for that purpose

That's a great idea. I think knowing what's a good deal is the biggest lesson I have to learn. OH and I in Aldi at the weekend was a joke - we had no idea whether certain prices were good or not. I've never been completely oblivious to prices but certainly not paid enough attention in the past. The only things I know pretty well are washing detergents and cat food :rotfl::rotfl:

I have absolutely naff all idea when a deal is a good deal or not. I normally just go "I need that, that, and that". So maybe the "gone off" shopping list will be a good teaching tool :)

I've been trying to think about how to work out a starting figure in my 2nd purse, since I'd done a bit of hoarding in the few weeks before I joined the challenge which were just bought along with my general shopping out of the one purse I had at the time! I tried to work it out to count the thngs I've used recently from my stash but it's hard to work in hindsight.....I started off with a bit of stock that I entered onto Kerri's spreadsheet that she kindly shared, then I did a bit of procrastinating and now I'm finally knuckling down.

So, today I start buying from my shop! :j

I've set my prices so as of today I have £78 of stock and I've put a fresh, crisp tenner in my 2nd purse which I'll do once a month (usually on payday).
I'm setting a £50 limit on the 2nd purse (or shop account as I try and think of it) so any amount that goes above that will go to 3rd purse as clear profit to go toward my Ancestry membership next year which is £155. The 3rd purse figure is what I'll be counting as progress in my sig so I don't imagine it will come off zero for a few months but then we'll be cooking on gas as it were

Hmm well been to Co-0p and am now the proud owner of 54 toilet rolls  Dh is going to have a heart attack when he goes looking for a bag of crisps and finds ive stuffed the shelves with bog roll   done a quick recalculate on my spreadsheet and as I bought a pack when the 15% off day was on and I had a voucher, my bog rolls have worked out costing me 28p each :D not so happy with Mr T as he totally suckered me with his 6 rolls of quilted velvet for £3 when I had a 50p voucher :( I thought at the time they were supersized rolls, but I dont think they are now :( so they worked out at 42p each :(:(:(

Really have got to tell myself no more bulk buying now as ive spent £44 since I started  just got to hope no-one puts my icecream on special this month as I normally buy 5 when they do   and Ive def spent all my second purse pennies!! On a plus note my stock is showing as worth £102.38 so im def stocked up :rotfl:

• Ok, I would like to join too!

I actually started doing this around September time when I first read about Motherships idea but unfortunately it fell by the wayside over Christmas.

Payday for me today :T so I am jumping back in feet first. I will pop £10 in my ‘till’ (jar) tonight and keep my eye open for any bargains that I need. One quick question. I still have a little bit of ‘stock’ left from last time. What I was planning on doing is just paying my second purse every time I use some of this stock. Does this make sense? Essentially it’s free stock as it has already been paid for!

I don’t have anything in particular I would like to save for but I am sure I could find a use for any spare money. I would love a new set of GHD’s but the kids are bound to need something more pressing before I make that much profit. DH would also love a new pair of boots but seen as I am doing all the hard work my wants come first :D(behind my little cherubs obviously).

Hope this all makes sense, need to think of a name for my shop (which is currently my larder under the stairs!)
Just little old me!

Annie99 that is wonderful, to have support makes life so much easier, you are doing brilliantly :j

MunniMuncha don't worry your LBM will come

For the ones that are having OH problems (ModestyB, tiff and anyone else)

My OH is the most pessimistic person I have ever met, in the past he has always poured scorn on my ideas with the words "nothing will change"
Anyway I was expecting the same with this so I did my usual, carried on without saying a word, last week he commented on all the shopping I was doing :rotfl: I pointed out that that maybe but my groceries were coming in under budget for the first time in 23 years and I had a bit stashed for bargains that we use................he shut up!!!! Last night on one of his usual rants of woa is me, he did point out that at least now I had the food spending under control. OK at this point I have passed out on the floor

I am not suggesting "007" antics but my mother, who I mentioned in an earlier post is doing all this "under the radar" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: My Dad is worse than my hubby in the scorn stakes. I made the mistake of asking her in front of him how the 2nd purse was going, I was so disappointed when she told me it wasn't and had fallen by the wayside, I missed the eye movements at this point. Two days later I had to laugh, no it hadn't gone by the wayside but was thriving, she had £28 in her 2nd purse and didn't want my dad to know, as he would want the money and start telling her what to do with it. She wants to save her 3rd purse for treats when they visit family :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Moral of the tale, keep with us, what seems impossible can become possible :D

He's totally up for stockpiling, but we need to plough that saving into other areas of the budget. I think when/if I ever get another job we will be able to do the second purse thing but at the moment every penny is needed.

Its amazing though that he is up for stockpiling as when I did it a few years ago he was saying things like "do you think the shops are going to run out or something!" lol But when I showed him that we usually have a curry every week, so thats 4 packs of peshwari naan breads a month. Usually £1.69 each in Tesco but on offer in Asda, 2 packs for a pound. So in one month thats a saving of £4.76 on just the naan breads in one month. Apply that to lots of other grocery items and you've saved a lot of money.

Hi everyone

Made a start on my stocks today, got my beloved cathederal city half price, baked beans, gravy granules, washing up liquid and cereal all for great prices. Made a list with what ive spent and what i will pay for them. Started with £20 and going to put in £5 a week so hopefully will start a good to make a good 'profit'.
