Only me! Just on to update my totals. Got some dog food today with second purse. It's usually £11 a bag but was reduced to £7 so I got 2 bags. Will charge myself £9/bag when I need to use it.

Still mainly buying packed lunch items from CAZCO/2nd purse. Plus I have DR meat in the freezer which I charge myself £4 a meal for, although it costs me slightly more than this, I more than make up for the loss with other items.

Hope everyone is doing okay :D

  • Sorry for being so dim - Who is Mr C? Can't believe I've had to ask...

Not much to report currently - living out of the freezer and Scrabble Stores at present. Other half finds out if he is being made redundant later this week so I am reluctant to spend anything at all at present.

Not dim, it takes a while to get all the jargon doesn't it! Mr C is the Coop, Mr A is Asda, etc.... At least I think it is! You've got me worried now, maybe they don't mean that and I've been making an idiot of myself as usual
Hope your OH has good news this week.

Oh of course, Co-op! I can usually figure them out in the end but I was trying so hard to think of a shop that begins with 'C' but never thought of that lol. Thanks for the tip off - it's off my beaten track so I'd never look in normally. Do you know it took me WEEKS to figure out what the rainforest was when I first joined this thread :o

Thanks for thinking of OH. It's a nervous time. OH has suggested maybe we should move somewhere new if he gets the chop... Not sure what I think about that. Still, we'll manage. If nothing else I've got food enough to last us for a good long time!

  • Forgot to mention yesterday, the new Co$tco offers are out and some of them might help someone -

    4 x 10pk Triple Velvet TP £10.42 inc VAT
Finish Powerball dishwasher tablets 2 x 90pk £18.58 inc VAT
    Comfort 5l (142 washes) £4.78 inc VAT
Persil 100 wash £11.86 inc VAT (though I would go for Co$tco ownbrand...)

Those were the 'stick out' offers for me, loads more offers and of course standard prices too on certain things, just remember to be selective!

Yeah in the first few pages of the thread there are lots of references to 'the rainforest'...think one big south american rainforest in particular that shares its name with a huuuuge website that sells books and, well, everything else now too ;)

Just out of interest, why don't we refer to the shops' actual names? I'm sure there must be a reason...

I asked the same thing and someone said it's because people don't want to give the companies free advertising. Although I end up thinking about the company more as I'm trying to work out who they mean lol!!

  • OMG! Its over three months since I updated my signature...

I've lumped the three months together to save a lengthy post.

    1st Purse
    Balance from May £114.19
£200 pm June July & August Balance £714

    Spent on Perishables £188

    Owed to 2nd Purse
75 meals from the freezer @ £3 each + used £50 per month from stocks.
+ Added £30 @ £10 per month payment to second Purse = £405 total owed to 2nd Purse

    1st Purse Balance £121

Added to £100 funds in 2nd Purse new balance of £505
    I spent £150 on restocking.

I've left £100 in my 2nd Purse float and transferred £345 to 3rd purses Balance of £290.94
Giving me a new Balance of £535.74 in 3rd Purse.

I had to send my daughter £200 as she was in Uganda and had run out of cash, so now I only have £335.74 in my 3rd Purse.

    1st Purse £121
    2nd Purse £100
    3rd Purse £335.74

I've not bought my F/Freezer yet. Plan to wait a wee while and get it nearer xmas.

I've managed to live for three months on the stock I have and only spent £188 on perishables, and £150 on re - stocking, a total of £338
If you take into account I've only got £200 per month grocery budget, I still have £556.74 in my 3 purses LOL.

CONFUSED LOL ? So am I he he. I gave up trying to work it out long ago, I only know it does.

Oh Aye, forgot to tell you my wee ISA has £7,000 in it now. I told my husband, he was gobsmacked.
