Today has been a complete NSD
havent even had to buy from SOS :eek:
Have decided to have beef for tea tomorrow (as its cheaper to buy back than the chicken :rotfl:) which means as long as I dont go spending tomorrow . . . Grand total GB spend of the month is £205.73. Slightly over budget, so really got to watch those pesky top up shop extras
still happy though as its £2.40 less than last month

I too bought the Ex Virgin Olive Oil from Mr S as we go thru quite a bit. I'm waiting for my DH to notice the bottles and make a sarky comment

Well done on your grocery spend Jake's Mum. I have also got to the stage of choosing meals for the week based on what I have in my Stock-a-Lot shop :rotfl:.

Just caught up on the past week, everyone's doing really well
Can you send me a message with your current 3rd purse totals please, I'm finding it a bit difficult with my new job to keep track of everyones. It's really nice to see everyone starting to flow into the 3rd purse though, and welcome to ACL and congrats on getting off the starting line
As for me, well I've bought:
12 x x virgin olive oil @ £2.34 each (buy back @ £4)
12 x olive oil @ £2.34 each (buy back @ £4)
1 x g*p jeans @ £8.97 (buy back at £25)
200 TC pair oxford pillowcases and double valance; 400 TC pair housewife pillowcases, double duvet, fitted double sheet @ £116 (buy back @ £250) - this is going to be a spread payment, you can't do that in the shop
12 x double deckers @ £3.98 (buy back @ 50p each)
I stopped off at Gretna outlet village on my way back from Edinburghthe only reason was my brain said "oooh outlet....oooh savings!!!! oooooooooh second purse savings!" The best one buy was the bedding, as I'm making my own bedding set, it's mostly 400 thread count sateen and as I've bought the detail fabric from the States something that should have cost £400 is costing me about £160
I will be paying myself back gradually over the next few months.
I haven't been back home yet to check through my AF order, is it sad that I'm excited about it?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I have just done a tot up - I so far have £20.36 cash in my 2nd purse, and stock that at cost price was £102.81 - started the challenge in January and so far have added £45 of (real) cash to the pot so whilst I don't appear to be going as fast as some of you am still really pleased with my progress. I haven't (as yet) transferred anything into my 3rd purse, but am being patient - not usually a virtue I'm blessed with!!! One thing about this "purse system" - its been a real eyeopener as to how fast we use stock - we go through @ 3 pats of butter a week for a start, and toilet rolls - don't get me started - this week we have used 9 (we are a family of 3 although my Mum is with us at the moment) - I have been struggling with a cold as well - but 9!!!I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Hi everyone
Can I join in please? I have read a few pages and will catch up over the next few days. There are a lot of abbreviations on this threadWhat is AF and Mr C is that Mr Co-op? SP is second purse ?
If I buy a bogof and put the free item away, do I then buy it back at the full price? and what purse would I put that in? and do you have a purse just for offers, separate from your main grocery budget?
Sorry for all the questions but I got up to posting number 500 and got lost along the way!!!
Thanks x8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140 -
AF = Aproved Fo0ds
Mr C = C0-op
Mr W = Waitr0se
SP = Second Purse
GB - Grocery Budget
Your second purse is specifically for offers, you put £10 a month into your second purse (or more/less its your purse) and use it specifically for buying things on a good deal.
You then use your grocery budget to buy the items back when you need them at full price. Every time you use a second purse purchase you pay the money back to the second purse which you then use to buy more deals.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Thanks xyou're #53 whoop whoop! If you want to name you're shop then just let me know what it is.
If anyone has named theirs and I've not seen can you also let me know please
I've got a good stock behind me now, and as I've started noticing what the average price of goods is, instead of the fluctuating price (one week offer, next week inflated, following week offer higher than initial, next week normal, next week original offer etc) so I'm starting to change the pricing on my items from being full whack to what I'd actually pay for them now.
Some people put both items in the 2nd purse and buy one straight away, others will put one in the kitchen then one in SP and charge for the 2nd. It's really up to you whichever way is best, and whichever way works for you.
Please feel free to ask all the questions in the world, we don't bite and it's a really friendly bunchI'm learning loads, Mothership is a diamond for showing us this way of shopping.
I've just updated my spreadsheet and my SP is currently £118.53 down eep! But this is because I bought the luxury bedding, so food will be free from Beans-a-lot until that's paid back and the SP is back in the blackit's great that I can do that. As soon as I pay for the bedding (spreading over a few months of £25) I'll have £200+ in the SP. I've also included the clothes I bought at the outlet store, as I'd normally pay full whack for those as well.
I'm going to post my new spreadsheet onto google docs now and a link on the front page so people can see what I do with my list. I normally filter to remove any items that have 0 quantity left. I've taken formulae from HelenPie, which has greatly improved the list and I can also filter by category just like you can when you do online shops
