  • Hi all! Seems like we're all grabbing lots of bargains! I seem to be paying a lot in :) but then paying lots back out... but I now have over £500 worth of stock! :j

2 Packs pork loin steaks (1.95 each, sell back 3.00)
    1 Haagan-Dazs (2.42, sell back 3.00)
    2 Soreen (0.50 each, sell back 0.70)
3 Mr A Packet Mixes (0.25 each, sell back 0.29)
2 Packs Cheddar (2.00 each, sell back 2.48)
7 Portions Mr A Chicken (1.67 each, sell back 2.00)
2 Tubs Ben & Jerrys 500ml (Both free! Sell back 4.00 each)

    PHEW!

And I worked out that this week, the profit on what I bought out came to £26.16. Though this has been reinvested in the above & my purse total stands at a lowly £1.55. However, my freezer is now quite full and not much more will fit in there!
    2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.00 :) 3rd Purse £30.02
  • Well DS gets the 2nd purse. He was putting some money into my Sealed pot (another challenge). I asked him what he was putting in there. Bless him he said he had had 2 x Yorkie bars out of my shop. He had paid £1 in, I asked how he knew what to pay and he said that I said they were 50p each. :T:T:T

Bout 2 x 15 cans of coke from MrA

£5 a box of 15 or 2 packs for £8 = 27p a can. Will charge 50p a can. Just told the kids how much they will have to pay. May stop them helping themselves so freely:D

    Fairy apple washing up liquid £1.00 - £1.00 voucher = FREE x 2 :D

:j:j:jOur tumble drier packed up today:j:j:j
So how is this a good thing? Well,DH has been talking about getting a combi washer/drier for ages. So if we do get it-then we an sell the working washer to make space for the washer drier-and I can get my chest freezer now already

Granted,we'll be making both prchases on my classic confidence account, but I'll be saving on the stuff I now buy as it can go in the freezer-and I can have a proper go at batch cooking.

  • Thanks Mothership, I have ordered that with some pork meatballs and pork mince (enjoyed the other stuff I had the other day, so am going to order some more) but when I put your code in, it doesn't change the total? Maybe that code is just for you? I did put in the code they gave me with the letter for a 20% discount, but that just come up with a £3 discount, whereas it should be £9.60 - not sure what I am doing wrong here either

I queried this with them and they said:-

*Thank you very much for contacting Donald Russell.

I can confirm that the promotional code enq102 is only valid on full price items. This offer cannot be used with any other offers so this is why it will not allow you to have the 20% discount*

  • Hi

I want to start this but i am a little confused i am going to walk myself through it and hopefully you will point me in the right direction.

If i have my normal weekly grocery bill - say £50 in purse 1 i transfer say £20 of it to purse two, yes?

then any bogofs, special offers etc are bought with the £20 in purse two? any time i use a special offer item then i put full cost of each item in purse two after taking it from purse 1.

Any money over £20 "float" is a bonus and can go in purse 3 then transfer to savings account/buy a treat?

    have i got this right?

    I *think* AF is App0ved F0ods, I could be wrong though :o

With regards to the SP, there isnt really a hard and fast rule as we all have different financial obligations etc, so you can do yours as you have said. I am doing mine as:

Grocery budget in 1st purse is £35 a week, I also take £10 each month and pop it in my 2nd purse

Use £10 in second purse to buy deals

Buy back deals with 1st purse at what I would happily pay for it eg: dishwasher tablets 54 pack bought on offer at £5, buy back at £6 as I would always buy them on offer, or haagendaz icecream bought on half price £2.42, buy back at £4 as I would pay full price if I had too.

Deal amount goes back in 2nd purse, profit goes in 3rd purse

Beginning of next month add another £10 to 2nd purse

I will keep adding to 2nd purse until there is £100 float in there so I can seriously bulk buy on good offers

    Welcome Shazzer! :hello:

Everyone does it their own way, there are no 'rules' as such, more of a loose concept! If you have a read through how other people are doing it, then start doing it the way you feel most comfortable. You might well adapt it as you go along to fit in with the way you like to live and shop.

AF is Approved Food, a short-date cash and carry type website. I love it! When I first started posting on this thread it took me about three hours to figure out what 'the rainforest' referred to :rotfl:
