I bought the half price pasta sauce with Pecorino cheese, today. Just a warning to those of you who don't like their sauces spicy - there is more chilli in here than I would have e expected, given it wasn't mentioned as one of the main ingredient s.0

The small choc chip brioche rolls in Aldi used to be individually wrapped but last pack I got they were loose. Disappointed as they are not going to keep as long and whereas they used to be handy to pop one in my handbag for a mid morning snack at work I now have to put one in a small ziplock bag or wrap in clingfilm.0

How does this compare with sugar filled products ?
There are probably equal factions for and against the use of sugar versus artificial sweeteners, but a lot of the 'research' is questionable, as it is not carried out according to proper protocols.
If you are diabetic the sweetener is the lesser of the evils, anyway.
No, sweeteners cause more harm than sugar. If you're diabetic then you need to reduce sugar intake and not replace it with synthetic equivalents. It's not rocket science nor that difficult to do. And yes, I'm diabetic too before you ask.0 -

Oh dear, how shameful of Aldi for reducing surplus packaging and costly landfill waste. I wonder how we used to keep food fresh before the advent of harmful plastics!0 -

Some people do have issues with artificial sweeteners, aspartame in particular.
Personally I only have a single glass of squash each morning (in place of fruit juice) and the occasional gin with diet tonic so I'm happy it's not enough to be harmful. However I'm not diabetic.0 -

I'm not sure which item you are referring to but there is always a downside to artificial sweeteners. Best found for now and least harmful to my knowledge are Xylitol and Stevia.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Great, the zip-locks have been inventedand you can re-use them, too

Maybe because they have to fill the shelves more often, due to sales, or because they don't re-stock overnight like other supermarkets? Don't know, just a thought. Aren't they the only supermarkets where the staff have to do all of the jobs and not just one - you regularly see them abandoning something to go and open another till? They do get a higher hourly rate of pay for their hard work, I think?0
