Not all Lidls have a bakery.

I managed to grab a few bargains as our Lidl had a booze clear-out. Cloudy cider for £ 3 and all different beers for 50 p each!

I think it was due to French week they also had a Continental meat platter, same price per kg as the ever so lovely Black Forest Ham.
Back in stock also the living salads for a late planting in the greenhouse.

Aldi Bracknell - a choice of only 4 mid price red wines, egg shelf empty except for a few broken eggs, no dark unflavoured chocolate in stock.

Are some branches going to pot?

Does anyone know whether Harvest Morn quick oat sachets (original) are being discontinued? Someone asked me to get some as their local store only had the flavoured varieties.

(It goes without saying that my efforts to persuade them to buy a bag of porridge oats instead fell on deaf ears).

They are probably doing rather well with stock gone but understaffed...

Lidl Bavarian cooked ham, very nice indeed (not sure if it was a special as we grabbed it from the reduced section but will look for it now !)

Just to say that child exploitation (cocoa farming in West Africa) hit the headlines yet again this morning.

I've just checked the stash I have for baking, and Lidl's Bellarom rich dark chocolate (45%) is UTZ certified, which means that amongst other good practices, child / forced labour is not part of the supply chain.

I know this doesn't really answer your question but the original were available in my store at the weekend. I know this because I bought a pack in error, thinking I was picking up the Golden Syrup variety!! (Yes, I know porridge oats are cheaper as I buy them for myself but, sadly, one of the DGDs will only eat instant oats!!)

They do look remarkably similar, from the top of the pack anyway so I nearly made the same error myself. The only thing that defines the GS from original is writing on a thin strip of yellow.
