Which ones were they? (they now do two different types)

and

We always have the former, and switched to them because they were pretty much indistinguishable from Birds Eye peas. I've not tried the latter, and I don't really understand why they have them since they're only about 1% cheaper.
The second ones, haven't tried the first ones.0 -

Another vote to massively avoid the Aldi everyday frozen peas in the white bag. Worst peas ever, I never throw "good" food out but I came pretty close with those.0

Aldi peas in the green bag are lovely and good value.
I usually buy the free range chickens which are brilliant value at £4.99.
If you haven;t tried the dark chilli chocolate, try it , it has a nice little kick.[SIZE=2]SPC4 #1395 Aug 11 £135.75/£150

Aldi are doing tinned curries at the moment. At 85p a tin or whatever, they're competitively priced compared to other tinned curries and ready meals. However, I found that the saag aloo and the bombay potaotes were only OK. Edible, but I don't feel particularly inclined to buy any more. I've bought a few tins of the chick pea dhal, as it's better. Sort of cheap and cheerful but filling. Useful as a backup, but I've made better myself. I don't know why tinned curries seem so hit and miss. Sainsbury's vegetable curry has a bit of an odd flavour that I'm not really fond of.Another vote to massively avoid the Aldi everyday frozen peas in the white bag. Thanks for telling us. I buy their Petit Pois and they're OK. Not as good as Birdseye, but on a par with other supermarket peas. I haven't even bought the regular Aldi peas yet, let alone the everyday ones, as pea quality varies so much. I'll give the green bag normal sized peas a go, and not touch the everyday ones with a bargepole.0 -
Hi everyone
I've been watching this forum for a while and I've noticed that more people talk about Aldi than Lidl. Does this mean that it's a better supermarket?0 -
I think there's just more Aldi stores around than Lidl stores, that's why more people talk about Aldi.
Generally, it's the same kind of shop and it's roughly the same things that get sold in there however I think Lidl have nicer Christmas biscuits etc (you have got to try the Spekulatius biscuits!!)
But yeah, I don't think there's any difference between themBroke Student :beer:0 -
I agree with Florasaurus...they're quite similar but access to the stores really varies depending on where you are in the country. There are a couple of Lidls near me, but the nearest Aldi is miles further - in other parts of the country there will be Aldis but no Lidl.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

My nearest supermarket is Lidl, and if I was not able to shop around, it would be the main shop.
Not so many tricks as Tesco and Sains and they apparently work on a smaller profit margin.0 -
Similar thoughts here. I buy a lot at Aldi as it's only a 2 mile round trip. My nearest Lidl is a 20 mile round trip. If it was the other way around then I would probably use Lidl! Meanwhile am more than happy with Aldi for what I can get there - anything else I get from Sainsbury's just across the road. We also have an Asda and Morrisons but very rarely use them. Lucky in that we also have Poundland, B & M, Home Bargains, Farmfoods and Jack Fultons so stock up on any good bargains spotted in there as well. And to think, once of a day, my entire shop was done at Sainsbury's!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
