I have been advised by washing machine service engineers to use powder and not liquid as the liquid leaves a slimy residue. I have also heard others have the same.

I use soda crystals in the drawer and liquid in the drum. The soda crystal soften water and removes smells and stains and the liquid does it's job

I wasn't sure how true to size Lidl's ladieswear is until I bought a denim shirt this afternoon - couldn't find a 12 so bought a 14 instead, and then hedged my bets and picked up a 16 as well.

I'm so glad I did! The 14 fitted well, but if I put on one ounce of weight / it shrinks in the machine I won't get any more use out of it. The 16 was fine too, and that's the one I'll be keeping. A size 12 would have been far too tight and short in the arm.

I shall be snipping the size label out though ;)

AMAZING buy at Aldi - Cornish butter £1.25, the brand is Trewithen dairy. It tastes so much better than ordinary butter, and only 25p more. I am never swapping back now :p

Also the white chocolate cookies are really nice too. Fresh raspberries seemed to go mouldy very quickly.

This is absolutely right - the only really reliable way to explore Aldi/Lidl is to try stuff.

I think the reason why this thread exists, and why people are looking for reassurance about their choices is that most Aldi/Lidl shoppers also shop elsewhere, because of the more limited ranges.

It therefore becomes a question of what proportion of the shop comes from Aldi/Lidl and what from elsewhere. Which comes down to which shop offers best value/best products. And that's where the thread comes in...

I think that was probably the case when the thread started but I'm finding that as time progresses I can do a larger and larger proportion of my shop in Aldi. I still buy a few bits and brands elsewhere but it's shrinking.

The tuna with chilli has disappeared in my Aldi this week. It seems to have been replaced with the packs of three tuna with coronation sauce etc and I really don't like them :(

Likewise and also applies to Lidl for me .
I try and if the quality is high then i buy again .
Also i find that these stores are less confusing on prices and don't go down the artificial tesco price cuts route .
