I also have a shopping list app on my phone, which gives me the total of my shopping in my cart.

    What's this app called, please?

Has anyone recommended the magnum-type ice-cream lollies? They're delicious and as nice as magnums, only £1.99 for 6. Not sure what they are called but the brand is Gellatelli or something similar.

Haven't tried the Magnum style ones, but Aldi's version of Solero lollies are delicious! I think they were £1 for 4.

Lidl pitta breads much better than sainsburys and my DD will normally only have the Total Greek yoghurt, but bought here the big tub of it with a handle in lidl £1.79 and she says it's thinner, but fine.

Bought Lidl tomato sauce, DH says it fine, but no one else likes.

    ToMarket Pro

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.OliasSolutions.ToMarketFull&hl=en

There's also a free version which is limited to 50 items only, but it's good to try it out first.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.OliasSolutions.ToMarket&hl=en

It might seem a bit complicated at first sight, but it's worth every penny and I didn't find any better app with all these functions. You can manage different stores, sort your shopping list by aisles etc.

Is it so very difficult for you to scan a page for what you deem to be relevant posts? This is a discussion forum relating to Aldi and Lidl, and it's hardly surprising that in a discussion forum people are going to discuss the wider issue relating to Aldi and Lidl. That's what discussion is all about.

People are interested in the individual food items, certainly, but I don't think one person needs to dictate what shall or shall not be discussed. If there are other issues relevant to shopping at Aldi and Lidl (and there have been several discussed over the months - such as the range of foods on offer, the comparative prices, the checkout experience etc) isn't that just as useful to an intending Aldi/Lidl customer?

And if one of the two has gained a reputation for overcharging its customers, isn't that something that's also relevant to new customers? There's a great deal of information in this forum on individual food items, and a great deal of other useful information too. Is it really so difficult to skip the bits that don't interest you?

I would also prefer if the moaners about overcharging and car parks moan on their own thread. It is NOT a nationwide problem (I have shopped in 3 different Aldis in our area) so it can't be a reputation, can it?? and your experience has nothing to do with the products . It is not difficult to skip but annoying to read about the same grievances on here again and again....
    Products anyone ;);) ?

    I use MySuperList from mysupermarket.co.uk

ToMarket doesn't appear to be available for Apple.

Same here, I shop in several Aldis and have never had a problem with any of their car parks. I can't imagine how or why anyone would overstay the allocated time anyway. I've never spent longer than 30-40 minutes in an Aldi store and that's even when doing a full trolley shop of 100+ items!

Does Aldi do their own All Bran? Always see Kellogg's.

What are Aldi's concentrate squashes like? Do they do no added sugar?

Lidl brand Soleros and Magnums are fine (three for £1l29 or 1.19). Different supermarket but don't try the new Tesco brand Magnums - the three for a pound ones - they are hideous (well, the caramel ones were.)

I don't think so. Their Bran Flakes are okay though (and a fraction of the price of Kelloggs). Having said that, they are always changing what they stock, and breakfast cereal is one of their most diversified areas.

The standard squashes come in Apple & Blackcurrant and Orange only, and are sold in 1.5L double concentrate, no added sugar only. 95p IIRC (I prefer the LIDL Apple & Blackcurrant, personally, but Aldi's is more similar to big supermarket own-brand).

They also have no added sugar Fruit & Barley - 1L standard concentrate. Can't remember all the flavours. The Peach is peachy.

Also Hi-Juice, as previously discussed. Blackcurrant, 1L double concentrate, no added sugar, £1.09 IIRC - highly recommended by the trotting fox.
