Our local isn't in a place where it can be made any bigger, but they have just extended the opening hours to a 10 pm closing time weekdays, which might help ease the crush but not for long I expect!0

Has it made customers use the big 4 which are open 24 hours or 11pm? Nope! Many people esp the elderly will not change their shopping times as they stick to routine. I have been to supermarkets after 8:30pm and they have been dead, apart from the 10 days b4 Xmas.
I have friends who work in Sainsburys and when they serve elderly customers and give their brand match and other coupons over, the time stamp on the coupons was the same time last week give/take 5 mins! So if they went through the till at 10:35am last week, they are back at the till a week later between 10:30-10:40am!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. One thing I would like to see Aldi do is to increase their range in dried herbs and spices. Gutted they stopped doing their garlic granules. Only do 5-6 of each.
Also their tinned fruit, veg and pulses need to be increaded. I don't think they do berlotti beans. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I find going around 3 pm a good time as many parents are picking up children from school. But it's OK for me I have a choice.0 -

Thanks!
Regarding store enlargements - I don't have a problem with that as long as it's new and different products and not just 20 varieties of the same like in the big 4....
They are on the cheese stand , not frozen
Enjoy !A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !

I'm an Aldi newbie, thanks for the great info.
I've been comparing my shops to Tesco where I shopped before and I'm saving on average £5 per week, (Aldi £15/Tesco £20).
At the moment I'm still visiting Tesco/Asda for some "bits", we really can't get away from Heinz beans no matter how hard we try and hubby has to have HP Brown Sauce.
Most things have been a hit apart for the Corale? beans and mushy peas.
We've particularly enjoyed the Cheese and Onion Quiche. The fizzy pop thats a Lilt equivilent, the Homestyle Fries (in a green bag), oooh and that rum and raisin chocolate the everyones mentioned.
Just thought, all the Snackrite crisps are good, the Stackers are better than Pringles IMO, love the Snackrite Cheddars too.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -

I think the Aldi specially selected stuff is very good.
The cheese coleslaw is as good as m and s
Cheese and caramelised onion tart, yummy
Hand stretched pizza, lovely
Olives and feta cheese, great
Lemon curd, raspberry and vanilla yoghurts the best out there
Then of their normal everyday range, i find the chickens very good and the potato gratin is excellent.0 -
