Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Don't waste your money on Aldi strawberry runners. They are incredibly cheap (£1.99 for eight) but of three packs I tried 10 have died (and I've been growing strawberries for decades, so I know what I'm doing). It's hardly at tragedy at the price but a reminder that sometimes you get what you pay for.
I have seen stores around me not keeping their plants nice. They are never watered by the staff. I have seen plants dead with weeds as high as the plant for sale.:eek:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's a till code. I'm assuming this is on the 'special 6' or whatever they call them? This code would over-ride the normal bar code on a special priced item.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

What I do is buy lemons cheaply (pancake day or YS), slice and freeze. Then they double up as ice cubes and lemon flavour in drinks.0 -

No they don`t I have to get them at Morrisons or TescoDo I need it or just want it.0 -
I agree with your last sentence for sure, but things you buy should still be fit for purpose, im not sure where you stand with warranty regarding living products, such as plants maybe just till your out the door.
the tools ive purchased are by no means for professional use, but very good value for the diyer or cheap enough for the occasional user. and a 3 year warranty is unheard off for pro stuff purchased elsewhere.
Oh, Aldi offers a warranty but the nearest branch is a three quarter hour drive from me, so I'm not taking them back to complain.0 -
