Ok so I still never got a call and therefore called them at about 8pm (I've calmed down a bit now).
After blah-ing on again about what has happened, they offer to refund me £300 by BACS, I said that wasn't what I wanted. They've taken £600 they were not authorised to do so. The guy couldn't explain how the supposed daily transfer I arranged going 4 times in 1 day so I'm arguing the fact I arranged a monthly transfer.
My phone cuts out (battery dead - d'oh) called back and told the girl I want £600 sent to me by TT, she says they don't do TT and argues that black is white they don't. After I question how a bank cannot do a TT she goes away and speaks to someone. I'm sure there was someone else listening to the call cos she kept putting me on hold. Comes back and mentions a CHAPS transfer, I tell her TT and CHAPS are the same thing as she probably knows.
Tell her I want £600 in my bank tomorrow by TT/CHAPS and I will not be charged any fee attached to this transfer, she tells me its £20. By now I'm losing my temper (I know its not her fault but they (foreign call centres) just don't understand what you say). I tell her I'm not willing to pay the £20 for their error. She goes off and speaks to whoever again, then tells me she's logging a complaint and gives me ANOTHER reference. I'm sure my initial call was logged as a "complaint". Anyway... I ask her "do you think I should be charged £20 to return my money that your bank was not authorised to withdraw, her answer was... no.
I now tell her I want a call tomorrow to confirm all of this is going to happen, she asks me for my numbers, numbers I have given to 2 people already. She says yes she has them but she has to confirm them.. what a crock!
So she has 2 work numbers and my mobile number. I expect a call tomorrow morning.
Why it takes 4 phone calls and up to now 2 days to get even close to resolving the situation.
When this is sorted I'm withdrawing the rest of the money, in fact if I get the call tomorrow they can send me the balance.
Do you think its worth writing to the chief executive (lets go straight to the top and make sure it gets answered straight away) after this gets resolved?0 -
How do you close your account with icici. This story has disturbed and troubled me. I want out. I don't care if i get less interest elsewhere. It's not worth the trouble.
I wish you luck my friend. Keep phoning up would be my best suggestion.0 -

I will do this with the remaining funds once I sort this mess out.0 -

Still not received a call back so called them at lunch, they still haven't got the details right and "confirmed" back to me that I'm £700 overdrawn.
What do i have to do to sort this out, i might as well have asked for the bacs payment, would have the money sooner than this.
She logged ANOTHER complaint (why?) and said I'll get a call in 24hrs. Why haven't i had a call after 24hrs from yesterday!
Had to give her my phone numbers AGAIN as she couldn't see them on the system.0 -
Bloody call centre hasn't got a clue.
I've arranged a DD indemnity claim with my bank for £600
Transferred the 2 x £100 that I did authorise. (Jan and Feb) leaving a small balance - £1.23 or something.
There are 2 x £100 "in clearing" from yesterday and today but those will disappear as the DD is cancelled.
Apparently there are 3 x £100 pending at my bank for tomorrow aswell but as before they won't go.
I have been promised a call at 9am tomorrow from a manager at ICICI, we shall see.0 -
Ive been with ICICI since August 06 and havent had any problems yet, maybe because I only use the 'one off' transfer system. Not sure whether to ditch it and set up a regular savings account with another provider?
Anyone got any advice?Jan GC £28-49/£120 NSD's 15/17
