To be fair, I doubt that TL held a gun to her 'victims' heads to make them hand over their cash. You have to blame the individuals for being greedy and selfish. As previously discussed, these scams have been going on for years, and this case is just one of the more recent, so most of this current batch of fools were fully aware that the scheme was unsustainable, and that a whole raft of people (including themselves) were likely to lose out big time, but it didn't stop them trying to cash in. That they lost thousands of pounds as a result is their own fault.0

Mind you (as happened in this case) when a solicitor goes on TV and pronounces to all the world that this scheme was 100% legit, that might have led people to believe that it was sustainable.
This is what (text removed by MSE Forum Team), the syndicate's solicitor said in a BBC programme:-

Just thought I would update this thread.
They all appeared in court yesterday with a very large posse of lawyers (who says crime doesn't pay) to indicate their pleas.
Unsurprisingly, they all plead not guilty. It looks like they are indicating a technical argument at this point.0 -

Yet another update:-
Weston & Somerset Mercury.
As you see, the trial might be transferred to Reading because of "all the publicity" (read into that what you may), and the delay was caused by all the paperwork involved. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
