Sorry, just sticking my head out of the hole I lurk in... With regards to the pink issue (I haven't read back, just Fluffnutter's post above so don't know what's already been said...) I have managed to not end up with too much pink stuff for Amelia, but I didn't want plain white, which seems to be the other option! So I got some packs of plain white sleepsuits and vests from Asda and dyed them with Dylon
We now have purple and yellow and I might do some green next... Obviously they're just one colour, but still better than plain white...

There's some cute stuff in next that isn't pink (there's also a LOT of pink stuff) but of course it isn't cheap.
My mum wasn't commenting the other day how there aren't any/many lemon baby clothes in the shop now so if you don't know the sex it's white or beige. I like yellow.

My boys been in 0-3 for about 11 weeks now and will be for another few weeks I think, and the only babygrows I have that are still looking fresh and new are the Next ones, they wash great and are so soft. The supermarket ones look grubby now, and I'm convinced a few have shrunk, despite careful washing from me. They also re-sell well
just my 2 pence worth though. xx

In terms of vests, socks and stuff, all of the girls' stuff is unrelentingly pastel. I don't know whether I'm having a girl or boy but I did want to buy some non-white stuff. I've bought boys' stuff in the end. It's just bright primary colours. Little bodysuits in yellow, green, red, purple etc. Why can't a girl wear these? I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but Aldi's specials on Thursday include baby stuff - looks worth having a look I think!

hi everyone
I haven't been online since Friday so it took me ages to catch up. Now I'm so mentally shattered I don't have any strength to post so I'll be quick and please forgive me for not mentioning everyone!
jennynoo - congrats! You seem to have had a perfect labour. I hope you pick a name soon.
We did some baby shopping over the weekend and also a few of my Amazon orders arrived so I'm feeling more in control.
We got some lovely clothes from ASDA but I would appreciate some help as I've no idea what babies wear. We bought: sleepsuits, short and long-sleeved bodysuits, a going home outfit (a cute Duck sleepsuit with a matching hat), two hats, scrats mitts and a hoodie with a zip. Do I need to buy anything else? I'm thinking maybe a few little tops to put under body suits and maybe socks?0 -
Emsbet Thanks for the info on clothes! I'm going for another look on ebay tonight to see if I can find some stuff to go with leggings. I'm all for being comfy now so I get straight into my pj's when I get home anyway! Know what you mean about maternity wear - saw a gorgeous dress on Stacey Solomon a few months back in a Sunday magazine but when I went on line and checked the price it was around £200! Isabella Oliver also has some nice evening stuff but again, the price is just too much. I have seen a nice dressy-up dress on Asos that I might get for £45 but not sure how much use I would get out of it!
As for pink clothes - I'm with you all on this! I really don't like the colour but won't stop my little girl (if that's what we're having!) from wearing it but I really hate the fact that ALL girl stuff is pink! I did have a look in Tesco last wee and the newborn stuff had a lot of neutral colour but also some lovely disney vests and babygros in white and yellow! They had Thumper on some of them and were really cute! I've managed to buy some great baby clothes for a car boot - no pink in sight! Some of the baby gros were only 10p each too so I was v. happy!
Loving the discussions on names too - we had shortlisted Myles for a boy but now we have two other names that we have fallen in love with! With probably use both of them and make one of them a middle name but not sure which way round at the moment! They're not featured in the top 100 - I have no idea where in the list they appear! For girls names we have chosen Grace as a middle name but we have a couple of options for the first name. I think when we look at baby we'll just know which name will feel right. Maybe none of them! lol!
Thanks for all the info on nighties as well - knew I would need one but hadn't given any thought to bra/bra-less or colour of nightie either! Thinking about it, I would prefer a dark one too and must remember to take dressing gown and slippers! My list of things to get is increasing every minute!0 -
I love pink! If I have a girl baby will only be wearing pink! Haha.
Maternity clothes wise - I literally had nothing so had to go out at the weekend and get a whole new wardrobe. I'm not really a fan of jeans so instead I have some jeggings from Mothercare which are great. They are quite thick, skinny, under the bump. I wear them with flats or tucked into boots.
Also got some vest tops from New Look (2 for a tenner) as I can wear them to work, on holiday and casual. A dress from New look, linen white trousers and some chinos. They had a great selection in my local branch and it wasn't frumpy - yay!
Also got work trousers and another vest top from Peacocks.
Finally, ordered this http://www.hm.com/gb/product/97157?article=97157-C and this from H&M http://www.hm.com/gb/product/94900?article=94900-A#shopOrigin=SA love the top! It was really nice in store but a bit tight so ordered a size up. It will go with the jeggings, linen trousers and be great for work. So I'm hoping that little lot will last me now. Just need the matalan swimming cozzie.0 -
