Emsbet - I'm really into skinny jeans and biker boots! I love combats too, but tbh I can be really fussy when it comes to clothes! I've got maternity jeans (including some skinny type ones which are ok but not great!) and leggings, but I struggle to find suitable tops to wear and I'm going on holiday next week so wanted a couple of nice dresses to wear. I've got a nice maxi which still fits over bump and have just ordered another one from New Look. I also saw a lovely snakeskin one in Debenhams - it was actually part of their beachwear range but I think it will look good with some sandals! Sandals! That's another thing I need to get! lol. I keep thinking that i will buy some stuff an customise it myself, but then with everything else I am trying to fit in at the moment I just don't have the time! I will keep searching! x0

Right. Question for you organised ladies.
What have you packed in your hospital bags in terms of nighties/PJs, both for during labour and for afterwards?
Thinking that the labour nightie can go in the bin afterwards, so very cheap and cheerful if possible! Also I'm huge in the bosoms dept, so thinking I might keep a comfy bra on for most of it...thoughts?
If I do by some miracle end up having a water birth, I'll prob wear my black maternity tankini and no bottoms, but I won't want to chuck that away, too expensive!

 Don't get me started on this one! The worst offender on the high street has to be Peacocks; if it wasn't for their truly amazing maternity yoga pants (I have two pairs and I live in them) I'd say they deserved to go into administration! Some shops are better than others though - H&M has quite a lot of neutral stuff, as do Mothercare, Debenhams and a few others, but I don't want to have to spend my life searching for non-pink clothes. Celebrity baby icon: Harper Beckham. No pink in sight. If only I had the Beckhams' shopping budget too!...0 -

Will be bringing her up as a tomboy anyway, not liking the sea of pink when we went to the shops the other day.
She can be an honourable boy (although you never know the scan next week might show things that weren't there beforeI do keep having dreams that we are having a hermaphrodite)
Hehe!I don't know why everything as to be pink or blue, what's wrong with other colours?!

I've had trouble finding skinny jeans, all the ones I've tried haven't really been skinny! So I've gone with leggings but I'm having to use my ore pregnancy tops with them as the maternity ones I have don't go with leggings. There are lots of nice non-maternity dresses that will work because they are nice and floaty but I'm reluctant to by any yet with this silly weather.

I'm labouring in a hospital gown. Have you seen what a mess it makes?? Afterwards, if I stay in for a while (and for use at home) I've got a nice jammies set from Mothercare that's got poppers on the top so you can expose yourself to the navel to give little nosher full access to your boobies."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I'd say we're thinking along very similar linesI have a cheap and cheerful nightie for labour - long enough to cover me when wearing no knickers (!) and dark colour to minimse nasty stains. But yes, I'm expecting it to go in the bin afterwards. Like you, I have big b00bs and feel very uncomfortable when not wearing a bra, so planning to keep mine on (but if for some reason I need to take it off, dark colour nightie should help me feel slightly less self-conscious).
I have a bikini from Bravissimo, as like you I'm hoping for a water birth, but I'm keeping the labels on until I know if water birth works out - if it doesn't I'm returning it as I can't see me ever wearing a bikini in public!
For after labour I have a two-pack of Mothercare nursing nighties - they're basically like big, long t-shirts with buttons.0 -

I took a cheapie Primark nightie, that I was planning on throwing away, but my MIL took it home and laundered it for me and I can't bare to part with it now
I also took the type of pjs that are like trousers and a jacket? and wore a little vest top underneath. So it meant I could be cosy if I was cold or not if I was warm. Also with button opening easy access for breast feeding.
Slippers too. I'd maybe take a housecoat too, I didn't and sort of regretted it. Especially after being stitched up and just told yeah go up to the ward without your knickers or trousers! (it was nighttime) Woke up in the morning and thought Sh!te can't get outta bed because I've got a cathater in, I've bled all over this bed (despite a pad) and I'm wearing nothing on my bottom half! :rotfl: the joys of labour and childbirth. The frontier is never somewhere else. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Yup you guessed it, another one for Theo. I just adore it so much...and I don't know any other Theo's (although it sounds like I will do very soon!
) There are still two other names in the running though as DH isn't entirely convinced.
I really love it too, although I want Theodore on the birth certificate as I think it's nice to have the full version on there. DH is putting his foot down on that matter unfortunately as he doesn't agree. I just have a vision of shouting out "Theodore (surname)!" when he's being naughty though :rotfl: I probably still will!Freebie alert! In case anyone's interested (and, like me, has too much time on their hands and won't mind answering 7 multiple choice questions...), Bepanthen are giving away free samples of their anti-nappy rash cream. I've just requested one, so I don't know what size they are, but I'm a sucker for a freebie and will be happy with whatever they send me! Go to www.bepanthen.co.uk and click on 'claim your free sample'.
Ooh thanks, I've just requested mine. I love a freebie. Last week an Avent bottle turned up in the post but I've got no idea where it came from! I sign up for these things and then forget all about them until things start arriving :rotfl:0 -
Vote cheap primary nightie for labour. Deffo a dressing gown and slippers. I won't be wearing abra. Even tho I'm really well endowed I figure if they can look at my foo they can look at my saggy boobs. I would like to try for a water birth but oh I'd a bit scared of water. Doesn't like baths etc and I don't want to make him nervous!love you lots like jelly tots0

I liked the name Theo/Theodore but my DH really doesn't so that one's off the list for us
I have a couple others I love though that aren't massively popular so we will probably go with on of those.
