Yes, same problem here with my 9lb boy! I was discussing it on the Newborn thread yesterday, Huggies leak wee up his back, but sadly Pampers leak poo out of the leg holes too. After googling yesterday, someone was saying to be sure to pull the frilly bits out on the Huggies to help stop leaks. Not sure what they mean exactly, but will try another one sometime and study it closely :D

Running down each side in the nappy are two 'barrier' bits that are folded down, I only noticed them the other day too. You just lift them up so they're not folded down, hopefully that should help stop any leaks.

I've got a stash of disposables to work through but am quite looking forward to trying out my reusables... I think she just needs to get a bit bigger, she was 7lb 5oz at birth but has dropped a few oz to 6lb 14oz yesterday. Hopefully I'll get her fattened up now that we're getting the hang of breast feeding.

No personal experience of a sweep sorry, but I hope it goes well for you!

I'm booked in tomorrow at 11am for a ECV, fun, fun, fun!

I decided I needed roast potatoes for breakfast and maybe ice cream for afters, it's the first time in ages I've wanted comfort food.
So I thought I would indulge myself.

  • Iwanttogoonholiday - My midwife attempted my sweep on Monday but said I had a posterior cervix so it wouldn't have made a difference - hope yours is successful and don't worry, it wasn't painful, though she didn't reach my cervix so I can't give a full opinion on the sweep. Good luck

I tried with a Pamper, pulling the frill right out and making sure it was wrapped round his leg, it still leaked a little but didn't reach his clothes. I'll have to experiment!

Sweeps, mine was fairly painless, more uncomfortable than anything. But I was already three cm, I know some find them pretty horrible. If you try to relax as much as possible I think it helps?

I had a sweep with DD2 and found it very uncomfortable, not painful tho. She couldnt reach the whole of my cervix either tho as it was right at the back! I think it was Kira that didnt enjoy hers either :( But....its nothing compared to labour lol! Worth having done if it helps, (mine didnt!)
BB i`ve been having really bad headaches, mainly at night time :(
Hope u enjoyed ur roasties Carmilla! When i had DD3 i often had swede with gravy and mint sauce for breakfast!! DH wasnt impressed haha! Good luck with ur ECV too :( xx
Just had a bacon and fried egg sandwich, and i really didnt enjoy it :( Have got such a sore throat today, kids have all be ill with coughs/colds so thinking its that :(

Having major cravings for fruit this morning. Just had 3 types of melon and a bottle of water. Feel so much better for healthy food.
Got strawberries calling my name too for later.

Now off to shower and try tidy myself up lol, before midwife at half 12.

  • Hi Ladies

I dont often post on here, but do spend most of my time browsing this thread!!!

Congrats to everyone who has had their baby recently.

I just wanted to say that when DS1 had leaking nappy problems, I found that Boots own brand were the only ones that didn't leak!! That was about 4 years ago, but might be worth a try for anybody who is having problems with Pampers and Huggies.

OMG I am sooo hungry at the minute! Have already finished my lunch, didn't even manage to wait until 12noon to start it! I was the same yesterday and just as bad in the evening! I think baby must be having a growth spurt! I did read that they do have one from 26-29 weeks and I am 26+5 so it could be that!

All I have left is some choccy in my bag that MIL gave me last night but I'm trying to leave it alone for now. Got a meeting at 1pm so hopefully that'll take my mind off it!
