I've had a fun 24 hours, last night I went to delivery for reduced movement, as it's my second time they wanted me to go in for a scan this afternoon, before my consultant appointment. Baby is fine, but has turned breech since 8pm last night! I'm 38+3. So obviously the consultant couldn't do a sweep like she had previously promised. I knew that going in but I still nearly cried when she said so. We then discussed the other options, they really don't want to give me a c-section because of my other risk factors, I'm still reeling a little.

Hope everyone else is well! Sorry about my rant, I just don't discuss this stuff with family and friends.

So sorry Carmilla, but glad baby is fine. Hugs......

Just been reading the "cooled, boiled water for formula" thread and my head hurts:o I'm still non the wiser after that:o

Ah got it now - I was reading this the other day.

So what I will be doing, is sterilising all the bottles, boiling fresh water in kettle, let it cool for 20-30min, make up all the bottles with formula, cool the bottles quickly in cold (ice) water, then putting in the back of the fridge for no longer than 24hrs.

The main thing I gathered is that the powder needs to be added to hot water to kill bacteria, not cold water.

Obviously the main advice is still where possible, make up fresh feeds as you go.

This is what I gathered from it all anyway :)

Evening all. Been out on a mammoth shopping spree today, to get the final bits and bobs. I am not leaving the house again, until baby has been evicted, it's too tiring and frustrating. So many people banging into me etc, made me angry.

But managed to get 3 extra bottles to attach to the breast pump, the bag things to attach to the breast pump for milk storage, got some amazing breast nurse pad things, they weren't that cheap but you can cool them down in fridge or freezer (in cases of mastitis etc) and heat them up to help stimulate the milk flow. They seem amazing. Got my nursing bras (pretty pink ones too :D ) although word of warning, if you feel okay about your body, don't go into the Mothercare changing rooms, the lighting is crap and you will look awful, I could have cried. Bought 2 books too, The Baby Whisperer and The Essential First Years - What Babies want their parents to know.

Also picked up our cot mobile that I'd ordered from Tesco, oh my it is huge, but very very fabulous, I love it, I think it would send me to sleep :o

Just came home to order Tens (I know I've left it a bit late) and found out Mothercare take 5 days to send it out  so back to the drawing board, feel like I'll be forced into buying one now! Grrr.

Hope you are all well, and labour vibes to those who need/want them ;)

I will definately be getting a copy of the baby whisperer, got a copy out the library for my sister last year and thought it made a lot of sense.

    What's that for Lucy?

How to make up formula feeds. When my son was small, you could make up bottles and store in the fridge. As long as they were used in 24 hours. Apparently you can't do this now and you have to make them up as you need them.

    So much conflicting advice.
