Icey great to hear from you. Can't believe it was three weeks ago though. Another beautiful name, hope you're all settling at home.

Glimmer glad was a not-so-clumsy day for you and you're feeling bright.

Sorry if missed anyone out. Been a long old day, had few ppl for BBQ. Wasn't great weather, but dry for most of the time. Had great laugh and my bump got lots of attention! My sister is very hyper about it!

Goodnight all, hope everyone sleeps well xxxx

Lovely to hear of another birth. Congratulations Icey!

Snoopy I can't see your pic either as I'm not on facebook, so looking forward to seeing it when you upload it.

Emsbet I hope you slept well and are feeling better today. Does the weather give you headaches? I get them when there is low air pressure so have had onr the past couple of days too.

Happy I hope your heartburn settled down so you could sleep properly. Mine seems to have started again in the evenings so need to talk to midwife on Friday about either changing my dose of omeprazole or switching to something else.

Lovecrafting we will miss you if you don't stay a bit longer.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Morning all,

My sore throat has turned into a full blown cold complete with snuffley nose. Does anyone know what we can use for bunged up noses? I know you shouldn't use olbas oil but I'm not sure about Vicks. I'm guessing probably not.

SM, I'm prone to tension headaches normally. I had lots of headaches last time I was pregnant too. It's either the hormones or dehydration or maybe a combination of the two.

    xx

Eek I am travelling up the list fast! And yes, ww2br, I had noticed the expected flurry of babies in mid-june, mine being one of them! :D

Hope you all slept well, I did- only went to the loo once!

Going for lunch at one of DH's colleagues' houses today, another friend is coming too who is about 37 weeks pregnant :)

I did quite well on the choc front yest, got a giant bar of galaxy, a lindt bunny, and a flake egg :)

Right, I suppose I should get up, mainly just because I'm starving!

Hope you all have a lovely day

    Morning all :)

I am a new mummy :):):) I am so so so so so in love and besotted with my little girl, I have tears in my eyes writing this. I was convinced she was a boy and was absolutely beside myself with joy when OH said it's a little girl.

I rang hospital about 6pm on Friday 6th and was shouted at for not ringing earlier to tell them about my waters going. Was told to go in immediately. So i rang my sis and she picked DS up,so that was him sorted. I then jumped in bath as OH was running it anyway and went straight to hospital, getting there about 7pm.

They checked me out and said my hind waters had gone but the fore waters were still there and I was about 2cm dilated - i had the monitor on me and contractions were not regular enough so they sent me home and told me to come back at 8am on Saturday 7th to be induced had nothing started more regularly in the night. Came home and went to bed with co-codamol. Pains were irregular, some every hour, some every 20 mins, nothing regular enough through the night. Got up 6am on 7th (Sat) and had a bath - pains stopped.

Went to hospital for 8am, 2 long contractions on way. Was examined and told I was about 3 - 4cm so could not be induced with the pessary. They decided to break the rest of my waters at 10am and transferred me to labour ward. No contractions so at 11am decided to walk around hospital grounds for half an hour, had 4 really strong contractions that took my breath away and made me double over and stop walking. Got back to room about 11:30am, started with more regular, every 10 mins, strong contraction, which then increased very quickly to every 5 mins, so at 12:35 I had to ask for some pain relief - was given gas and air and decided that I would lean over the back of my bed on my knees as I could not sit on the ball, bed, stool and being upright was by far the easiest position. Got the gas and air, midwife asked my how regular the contractions were and he said about 2 every 5 mins, didn't seem like that close to me but I was not in a position to argue. Gas and air started to ease the contractions a bit - I started to get really hot so asked my OH to take my bra off (still fully clothed at this point) as I couldn't, he was laughing at me and said I was like a real drunk as couldn't co-ordinate my arms to take bra off lol and kept saying funny things to him. Midwife went to get a fan and came back about 12:50 with the fan and said she would come back in an hour to monitor me, I screamed "an hour, I'm ready to bloody push, don't go anywhere!!! " Midwife had already asked me if a student could watch my birth as she needed one last baby to be born to qualify. So she said she best go and get some stuff and the student as room wasn't set up with delivery trolly for baby or anything at this point lol.

The contractions were getting really strong, the gas and air was taking a beating, next thing my leggings and knickers were being ripped off and I was pushing. It was amazing and so surreal, I honestly kept thinking I was dreaming. At 13:07, 7th April after a 7 minute second stage labour, my beautiful little girl was born. I remember hearing the midwife say about my DS being an older brother so I thought she was meaning that I had had a boy, not realising that if I had a girl he would be an older brother too. When my OH said it's a girl, I was speechless, couldn't move, thought he was joking, I was convinced all along I was having a boy as both pregnancies were exactly the same - he cried, i cried and was absolutely overwhelmed with love when she was placed on me. Never ever thought for one minute I was having a daughter - hence all the boys clothes in the wardrobe and my mum and sister having to bring some pink clothes to hospital :)

We have called her Maisie Elizabeth, she weighed 8lb 9oz.

My labour, from start to finish (contractions, pushing and placenta) is recorded as 1 hour 42 - a bot different from the 5 day slog with DS.

I really enjoyed every minute of it and am so in love with my perfect family. My OH was amazing, cut the cord, rubbed me in the right places, kissed me at the right times and said the right things.

I came home yesterday and have settled in fine. DS loves his little sister, she is just asleep now after being fed, DS is watching his new Easter DVD and OH is in bed, my turn for a couple of hours this aft after midwife has been.

Hope everyone else is well and good luck to all those still waiting for babies.

    Flutterby x

:hello: to all - hope you are having/have had a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend. I only ate half an egg yesterday  Very disappointing and many apologies for letting the team down!

Many Many congratulations to Icey :happyhear - so good to hear from you. Gorgeous pictures Lovecrafting. Hope poorly people are feeling better :A

Have had a very busy weekend, catching up with some friends as well as both sets of famlies. And...I have a beautiful new patio! :j Been quite stressful but its all done now and looks great. The weather is rubbish today otherwise I'd be out in the garden making it look even more pretty. Can't wait to relax outside when the sun comes back!

Hopefully DH and I will just be pottering round the house today...may even get to finish the rest of that egg!

    Love xxx
