The strangest thing just happened to me. My car seat and base is at my dads and I've been on my mission all day today so phoned him an said I'd call round and sort it out in his car. Said Id just nip to the loo and go straight round. I went to the loo and was met by this huge mucusy discharge with a little streak of blood in it. And now my back ache is starting again. And I feel very odd. Like I have far too much energy. It is weird. So I've took painkillers again and I'm resting up on the settee.
Flutterby - glad your weekend wasn't too hectic.DS1 born June 2000

Ohh happy, sounds like all the cleaning may have been good (if ever it can be classed as good) and maybe your anxiety yesterday was another early sign.

Well the trip to the labour ward was uneventful, no ladies in labour and just a few babies in postnatal, not sure what I thought I'd get out of it, it was good to see everything was clean and modern, sadly the staff in this area, midwifes, doctors etc constantly remind us about the cuts, like everytime I see the mw she says, we used to do x but that's been cut, on the ward we were even told about staff shortages which makes me feel a bit nervous! I guess they just have to manage people's expectations maybe?!
Happy, sounds promising but I hope you haven't exhausted yourself though! Have you many jobs left that you absolutely 'need' to do before the big arrival?0 -

Amymo at least you have been and seen it and it's another thing less to worry about
Ours was the opposite saying how wonderful they were and how it is only one of four in country that give one to one care had to bite my tongue and not retort with yes but that's because you were so cr#p previous that you were on special measures!Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Yeah I guess I do feel more relaxed now we at least know where the unit is (took us twenty minutes of walking around lost to find it!) and how to get in at night when it's locked!
My mam was shocked at the size of my hospital bag and the list of things to bring though, even though she had a 6 day stay with me everything was provided so she had a tiny handbag, I have a big holdall for me and LO!0 -
Amymo and Glimmer I'm glad your tours went ok and you know what to expect. I'm presuming mine is the same as last time cos I haven't returned since!!!!
My mums just come for a bit and she has helped me with all my chores and all my bags are ready for the binmen tomorrow. I don't think I've thrown away anything I shouldn't!!
And I am finally all sorted. Hospital bag is done and all babies clothes are washed and put away. I am officially ready.DS1 born June 2000

Thanks Emmy. I'm quite happy to wait my turn but I do feel really very odd today and as if I'm on some sort of mission. The painkillers aren't really touching this backache so I'm gonna just have to go with the flow I guess as I don't have a TENS machine or anything.
My friends are on standby this week and my dad is on call to pick Callum up at short notice if needs be. I'm not bothered about an April Fools day baby at all. After everything I'll just be glad not to have had a nervous bloody breakdown.DS1 born June 2000
