Been shopping today - picked up a few bits and bobs I wanted (not so much "needed" now)... got some sticky on mirrored stars to go on the fitted wardrobe doors in the nursery from B+M - they look fab dotted about across the doors (long-term plan is to paint the doors, or possibly star-shapes on the doors, in blackboard paint when the baby gets older), couple of bras to start off with until size stabilises (gone slightly larger than my current one just to have something without underwiring trying to kill me for the remaining bit of pregnancy if nothing else), the ever-so-glam nipple cream to make sure I've got some in, clip on hooks for the pram handlebars (I've got one with only one handlebar rather than one per hand) to hang shopping bags on that I've been meaning to get for yonks... think that's it really.

Just been lounging back in the baby's room watching everyone in the two streets potter around their back gardens - it's such a bright and airy room it's lovely... only drawback being the neighbours from hell that back onto us (whose builders have put us through endless months of disruption for almost a year) have fitted lights to their back wall that aren't angled at ALL - but shine straight across into the baby's room window, and are that bright it feels like the back of the house is under floodlights at Old Trafford when they leave them on all night (makes going to the loo feel like you're in the premier league as well).

Poor dogs are going to be exiled to the kitchen until they EVER dry off - they've been out for a walk with hubby that appears to have involved chasing squirrels and bunnies up and down a stream so they're all muddy and soaking wet!

Yes the weather is gorgeous isn't it Flutterby. I wish I felt more like being out in the sunshine but I'm just far too tired to move. Tryin to summon the energy together to make tea in a bit. Can't wait to go to bed!

I would have been on settee if it wasn't for having a 3 year old here lol. I am ready for bed too.

Dizzi sounds like you are well prepared now. Blackboard paint on wardrobe sounds like a good idea. Shame about the light out the back though :/

Do you have a black out blind in there dizzi?

I've spent an hour checking DS maths homework. I'm usually very quick off the mark but my brain is not functioning at all today and so it's been a long process. On another note, my friend brought me a bag last night so I should maybe do my hospital bag. Now what to put in it is the next headache!

I really really don't like blackout blinds - didn't want a roller type blind with the cord for that (it's a venetian with the cord cut right back to the top of the window) - because it doubles as an avoiding the hideousness of net curtains thing... was fine... till Old Trafford moved in out the back! (blind also took about 3 hours to fit as our walls are so horrible to drill into)

Hopefully the first time their electicity bill arrives they'll remember where the off switch is!

Actually wondering if they're trying to open a holiday park in the back garden - they had one huuuuuuge garden shed, now they've got a second chalet-type one with no evidence of taking the huuuuge one down... and they've put the second one up, without weather proofing the wood at all - so close to the fence they're not going to be able to paint the back of it now!

Hello all, moving over from the 12-24 week thread. Am 28 weeks this week with my second. Unfortunately I've been classified as a high risk pregnancy as my uterine artery is not working as well as it should :( but my blood pressure checks and growth scans have all been excellent so far :j. Have another growth scan, midwife and consultant appointment this week, so hoping for another good week.

    Evening all,

Well, I had a lovely day having newborn baby cuddles :)
My new niece is absolutely gorgeous, only 3 days old so I think she's the smallest baby I've ever held! So scrummy, all frowny and still quite curled up like she's still in mummy's tummy. Can't wait to meet my LO now! It's quite cool that SIL will be able to give me lots of advice too, as she'll have been through it all so recently when it's my turn.

Had a naughty glass of champagne to wet the baby's head, so tasty :) I have to say, I really miss wine! Not enough to have any though, except on very special occasions! :D

Re hip pain, I think I'm getting it too at night - I thought it was just my back, but actually its right round the side of my back and into my hip/pelvis area - whichever side I'm lying on at the time. A pillow under the bump helps, but not enough to stop it waking me up :( Ah well, I can't complain as I've been very lucky so far this pregnancy, symptoms-wise.

((hugs)) triangle for your SPD, it must be awful. You're about the same time along as me and I can't imagine being in so much pain so early :o I hope that it eases off and doesn't get any worse x

Got a midwife appointment tomorrow, six weeks since my last one! Seems like ages. Am I right in thinking the 28 week appointment is a "big one"? I seem to remember mention of blood tests... woop woop.

Well done emsbet for doing the lists - you are clearly a very organised person...! :D

Thanks thegreenroom for the link to the tens machine, however I thought I should mention, in case anyone was thinking of buying it, that it says not suitable for use in labour... (On the subject of tens machines, had a go on my SIL's one today - just on my arm on a low setting - and it's not entirely pleasant! DH had a go too and his hand was flapping around all over the place! :rotfl: )

Hope you all have a lovely evening :)

    BB x

    Evening all!

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary to emsbet and your DH. I hope you've had a lovely time together. What did he give you for your present? I'm struggling to think of a present for Moon - it's not long until our first anniversary either, and I know the first one is paper - was thinking of getting him tickets to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and he go with my Dad and do a last bit of male bonding before he becomes a Dad himself. Will have to investigate the dates though.

Had a successful day maternity clothes shopping. I got a pair of work trousers from NewLook for £19.99, and I got 2 pairs of yoga-style trousers from Gap in their sale reduced from £25.95 to just £6.99, so I had to buy 2 pairs as they were such a bargain. I think I'm going to end up living in the yoga trousers as they were really comfy. I'm going to have a look on their website and see if I can get them online too as I only had black ones and they come in charcoal grey too, so it would be nice to have an alternative colour. We also got a little t-shirt from Primark for our American friends who had their first baby on Friday (a little girl). It is blue, and says, "I'm pretty, Mummy is perfect, Daddy is lucky." I think they'll appreciate the humour as they're both very young (21 and 22). Just have to find something to post it in now, as I'm not sure if we've got any jiffy bags.

Hugs for all who need or want them - won't be long before I go to bed, as after a row with Moon this morning, followed by visiting my Nana (she was being very sulky and infuriating today), and all of the walking and trying on clothes in Southampton, I'm really tired now.

    Sweet dreams all.

    sexymouse x
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
