I've not even thought about waters breaking  midwife at antenatal told us less then 20% of peoples waters will break before any contractions etc, not sure how accurate that is though. :o

May go buy a shower curtain now though :rotfl:

Bellybuttons, where my piercing was has went all weird and "scar" looking. It's been out for years too, but since pregnancy it's all horrid looking!

my waters have been the first sign of labour for 2 of my girld, dd1 and dd3 the first time was on a train (embarassed isnt the word lol) and with dd3 i was in bed, it woke me up i thought i had peed my pants then the pain started, she was born half an hr later.

Well tbh i dont know of many people that have had waters go as first sign, but 20% is a good enough chance for me to worry! All 3 of my labours have started differently, DD1, they went at 3am, just trickled tho, god knows how it woke me up and i knew what it was! Contractions started 3 hours later. DD2, contractions started, waters went 4 hours later in the car on the way to hosp. DD3, waters went and contrations started after an internal at hosp which was an hour after they`d gone. So i wanna be prepared for all eventualities!
Snoopty, this is my first pregnancy where i`ve had spots, and they have been really bad! Do u know what sex ur having??!! xx ( sorry just seen ur having a girl, be cool to see if u get spots if u ever have a boy!) x

i dont have the spots but my skin is so dry, the shower curtain idea is a good one, i was thinking a bin bag but the curtain might win

But as i only realy come on here and fb for internet i`d like one that can do just that! xx

i use my blackberry for going online bt its a pain in the backside to get on here with it so i dont bother.

I think the implant can stop bleeding for quite a few people Emmy, but it's one of those things that you don't know until you try it :(

it can also cause severe depression, altho everyone is different, i had mine removed three months after having it put in because i was suicidal.

Oh no, on the train, I hadn't even thought of that, being at work would be mortifying enough, but being stuck on my own on a train would be a nightmare!

Not sure what I'd do as neither DH or I drive, would a taxi take someone that looked like they'd peed their pants?! I might have to keep a shower curtain in my handbag nearer the time lol!

I get the feeling my mother and MIL are feeling left out as I'm very independent and like to shop over time to spread the cost and do my research online rather than shop around, they are a bit disappointed the pram and baby furniture has been bought without them, think a trip to Mothercare for a few bits and bobs might be on the cards so they feel involved, or should I ask them to look for things themselves?

    finally caught up now,

baby pictures, ohhh they are adorable.

i just finnished watching call the midwife on the i player so am now caught up ready for 8 when it comes on. i had a little cry when the baby was born still and then started wriggling, goes to show what kangaroo care can really do.

what makes you think is, people still live like that now, in this country.

right i really should update my fb status before they all start moaning at me.

Just got LO down for a bit. Was trying to think of things that might be useful. I would second the advice to stock up on maternity pads- you will need more than you think, and if nothing else, the extra thickness of them definately helps with the discomfort of sitting esp after stitches/episiotomy more than standard sanitary pads. I've got through 1 pack of NHS, 1 pack of boots, and nearly the second pack of boots already, and still going..
Another TMI tip- Also, might be worth getting a tube of anusol hc just in case. I didnt have any piles before labour (lucky me!), but the pushing caused me to develop a mega crop which were actually more painful to sit/walk with than my stitches. I wish i had something to relieve them sooner but took 4 days before i could get DH out to buy me some!

My waters didnt break naturally, managed 9cm dilated with them intact- they broke them with an amnio hook eventually, just so they could fit an FSC (little clip monitor for heart rate) to babies head to monitor as they werent getting a clear enough reading from the hand held device. For the last 4 weeks, i had a shower curtain on the bed, topped with a bath sheet folded in 2, and a maternity waters pad (from boots in packs of 5). I also always had one pad in the car, with a towel, and one on the sofa..

Another thing i would say, is dont be afraid of having a catheter. Admittedly, it was painless as i had an epidural, but actually, i found it really helped me in the first day and half when DH had to go home. It meant i didnt need to worry about what to do with LO when a sudden desperate urge to wee came, and could just lounge around in bed with LO more. It was a little hassle carrying it around the room, but alot easier than schlepping to the loo every hour! Plus it meant i didnt have to have wee on fresh stitches for a day and a half!

Innies/outies, I've always had an innie, and was dreading getting an outie, but it never changed! YAY!

On the Bf dehydration thing. As well as excessive sleepiness, reluctance to wake and feed, a good early very early sign is looking out for the skin around babies neck becoming a bit saggy and turtle like, which shows they are a bit dry and losing a bit too much weight. Also, REALLY keep an eye on the number of nappies. Its easy to lose track, esp as in the early days its all a bit erratic and you dont usually get many merconium poos. In hindsight, we werent seeing many wet nappies at all, mainly poo ones. We assumed it was because they were combined, which they sometimes are, but you should see some of both.

Instead we went to the shop in Warrington, tested out Buggaboo Donkey. It is the first side by side that I would consider... But it costs a fortune!!!

So i'm considering the bugaboo donkey too. But at £1200 without a lot of extras, it seems a bit painful . But I really do like it so i'm trying to sell some stuff on ebay to raise some funds for it, so that I don't feel like i'm wasting money. I desperately hoping that I find a deal for it somewhere.

I've decided that I don't want a pushchair with one in front of the other, how do you decide who goes in front? I'm worried I will give them a complex already :rotfl:

Thats why after DD3 they advised me to not get an implant as i hadnt long started the Anti-Ds. I just never bothered going back...that and the fact a friend had the implant, then found out it was the one that people were falling pregnant on! x

Almost time for Wild At Heart then Desperate Housewives.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday!

On Samsung galaxy S2 -we got one for OH this Christmas, but I can't talk to him when I call, as I hear an echo of myself better than him!!!

I went to collect my order from Next, and went into TkMaxx as well. They had some changing bags - Skip Hop Loft and Fisher Price Deluxe. Both were £24.99. I can't find them online, but they looked nice. Not sure if they would be big enough for twins though!!!
