I'd be interested to know what you guys think about changing times, i.e. before or after feeding as I've had conflicting advice and my books only touch on number of changes, not times to change?
I agree with Raven, i always change pre-feed, one, because of the being asleep thing like she said, but also, the lifting the legs thing can make it more likely for them to posset/sick up their feed, and for the many babies with reflux, it makes it alot worse.
Now LO is doing a longer 6-7 hour sleep at night, followed by some shorter ones, i use a superdry night nappy before her pre-sleep feed, then change it when she wakes from that long one, then she doesnt need changing again before the rest of the shorter night feed/sleeps. Then when up in the morning, she is back into normal nappies.
I'm only happy doing that now, as she doesnt poo as often now her system is more mature. I wouldnt want to risk leaving her in a poopy nappy, so not something i would do when its still a 2-3 hour feeding/pooping cycle.

Hope Ginvt is ok, she's not been on for a few days now.

Yes I've noticed her absence aswell. Hope she is doing well and just busy. I'm so bored aswell today. I have no desire to do anything but watch tv but it's so hard to get comfy. Think I may need to get a ball to bounce on!!

And I've just been reading the thread on here about how to make up formula milk and i am so confused. My brain is frazzled thinking about having to wait half an hour for a kettle to cool every time I have a screaming baby that needs food. 12 years ago I just made up bottles in a morning and threw out what wasnt used the next morning and just start all over again. This is sounding stressful.

How bloomin helpful of her, she sounds lovely!!! At the end of the day, consultants know more than the midwives and if they think you should have baby early then I would listen to them. I would think actually being able to see the baby to measure it would give a far more accurate indication than feeling your tummy, afterall, baby could be really tightly curled up or spreading their limbs out.

Actually I think the midwife is right! Scans are notoriously unreliable at predicting weight. Consultants know more about abnormal births and pregnancies thats true but midwifes are more atuned to normal birth. Inductions and interventions increase the risk of further interventions. If baby is happy, why induce early?

Normally I would agree, but I have a hospital midwife, a diabetes consultant and a normal consultant, all of the opinion that baby is getting too big, too quickly, both from scans, and examinations, andalso because of my diabetes, it is quite dangerous for baby to get that big as she may develop problems herself.

I suppose I was more annoyed that a midwife that I had never seen before, who had not even read my notes, and didn't know all the drugs I was on, could make a judgement call like that.

Yesterday I felt a little confused, today I feel strongly that medical professionals should stick to the facts and be a bit less open with their opinions around hormonal women, who are already stressed and unsure what the remainder of their pregnancy holds, health wise.

Does anyone know much about ebay? Got a parcel today, with several items in that I won from the same seller, pleased with the items, but she charged me £10 for postage and when it's come today, it cost her £3.18 to post? Is thast ok? I won some more stuff off her last night, one more item this time though and she has sent me an invoice through for £15 postage - think she is taking the mick a bit, it's only baby clothes!!! x x

if you agreed to the postage price then unfortunatley altho its naughty of the seller they can charge what they like.

sorry happy i quoted you and thought i had replied.

re the feeding, I have done the same for each baby, made the milk in the morning and thrown it away the next morning, never had a problem, ok current medical advice tells you to make it fresh each time, but theres no way i am leaving my baby to scream for over an hr wilst she waits to be fed.
