Snoopy - unfortunately people often try to bump up the amount of money that they receive from you by upping the postage more than it would actually cost. Of course, there are the added costs of packaging, tape, bubble wrap etc, but a seller can really put any postage cost they want, and if you bid, you are agreeing to it. Sounds like she is taking the mick a bit, but there isn't much you can do sadly.0

re the feeding, I have done the same for each baby, made the milk in the morning and thrown it away the next morning, never had a problem, ok current medical advice tells you to make it fresh each time, but theres no way i am leaving my baby to scream for over an hr wilst she waits to be fed.
Thanks for that. Its been a long time since I've had a baby in the house and know things change but didn't see how realistically you can leave a screaming baby for 30 minutes whilst the kettle gets to an optimum temperature.
How are you feeling?
Snoopy - I understand exactly what you mean about being told lots of different things. And in your case it isn't just because you don't want the trauma of a huge baby it is for known medical facts and she should have been more thorough with reading your notes or not expressed an opinion.DS1 born June 2000

Thanks - so for the ones that I bidded on last night, she had already agreed to combine postage after auction as I didn't know how many I would win, now that she has sent through a revised invoice - do I have to agree to it, £15 is huge, and more than the cost of the items? x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0

Was £15 the revised postage?DS1 born June 2000

I think that is what annoyed me happy - by all means express your medical opinions, but at least read my notes first.
I know this is my first baby, but I am one of 11 kids, have 27 nieces and nephews, and 4 god children.
I can catagorically tell you - we will make bottles up in the morning or evening and throw away excess after 24 hours, current advice might be different, but it has worked for millions of people for years, end of.
I know I do and say this a lot, but as much as I want to do the best for my baby, I also am sensible and will do what I feel happy with, NOT what "new experts and opinions" necessarily tell me. I will always make sure my baby is safe, but at the same time blahhhh to some things! Bet you think I am nuts.
Went to a breastfeeding workshop this morning, and walked away a little cross at that too - it's all so in your face and judgemental, yes I know it is best, if it works great - if not will I kick myself, NO.
I nearly walked out at one point, last year I lost my 47 year old sister to cervical cancer, she had already beaten breast cancer. She had 3 children and breastfed them all, so did it make me angry today to hear the breastfeeding lady tell us all that if you breastfeed for just 2 months, you are likely to (not may) avoid breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, dam yes it did - talk about making women feel guilty!! Rant over - soz!!!Married the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

Yeah - the individual cost she had put for all postage would have been £25!!!!Married the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

im ok thanks, i had a damp pad when i got back from the laundrette but no pains or anything apart from a little pain in my floo. im not going to hospital to get monitored for the rest of the afternoon, patrinised and then sent on my merry way.
no, realisticly you cant leave a screaming baby for as long as that, its detrimental to there mental health aswel as leaving someone hungry is just plain wrong.0 -

That seems crazy money. Can you email and ask her if she is able to do it any cheaper or if you really feel strongly just tell her you don't want them anymore as you feel her charges are still high at the revised price.DS1 born June 2000

Yes well my 11 year old isn't at all traumatised by being given milk that was in the fridge for a few hours when he was a baby. I wonder sometimes if they just like to make things ultra difficult for people as that's what it feels like. Either that or it's ridiculously expensive to buy milk in those cartons so you don't have the wait. I think I shall just make up in advance and just make sure they are cooled quickly.
Sorry to hear about your sister Snoopy and I can understand why that 'fact' would make you cross. I think some people are far too in your face and judgemental and we are all so different that we can't all tow the party line. Long as it works for you then to hell with the rest of the world. I don't think you are crazy, I think you just know your own mind and from where I'm standing there is nothing wrong with that.

Oh lovecrafting the 'patronised and sent on my merry way' line has just made me dart for the toilet. That is hilarious the way you put that.DS1 born June 2000
