How was college Flutterby?
Hi happy, how many easter eggs have you eaten today?!?! lol I have just polished off since coming back from college, 2 slices of toast, smoky bacon discos and 5 little packets of cadburys buttons....i was craving it so badly.
College was good - meant to have exam on 27th which is 2 days before I am due so they have managed to slot me in on 22nd, a week before I am due which is better than pushing it.whowants2brich wrote: »Whilst I think of it, and bearing in mind many of you are somewhat further along with this whole pregnancy thing.... have any of you found that driving has become too challenging, once the bump is too big?
Would you be able to enlighten me on approximately what stage of pregnancy this would be expected to cause us a problem? (or what time you found that you were no longer able to drive...)
My wife currently drives 10 miles each way, and we're now trying to work out how late she'll be able to push herself, without having too much of a problem. Your experiences might give us a clue as to what to expect...
Thanks!
PS I forgot to mention earlier, my wife was in hysterics last night when I showed her this thread from yesterday. Thanks for cheering her up, and showing her how to take this pregnancy stuff so not seriously...!
Lol glad they thread cheered your wife up. Re the driving, I am due 2 weeks on thurs and still driving. I struggle to reverse but try my best not to have too. I drove the 10 miles and back to college today no probs. Will be driving about 40 miles on sat, but everyone is different.0 -
You ought to tell your wife to come and join in whowants2brich. It's a great area of support and we all try and cheer each other up and keep each other going.
As for driving, I am 35 weeks and I am still driving although am finding it a lot harder. My bump is starting to get in the way and I'm not sure I'll be able to push the seat back as my feet won't reach the pedals so I will just carry on until it gets impossible. I do find the entrance and exit from the car rather ungainly but I'm sure that gives spectators a laugh!!! As long as your wife isn't suffering from dizzy spells etc and she is perfectly safe then I'm sure she will be absolutely fine. With my last pregnancy I was driving the day my waters broke so it is different in all cases.
Ps. You don't really call your wife mrs fatso do you? I'm surprised she doesn't give you a clip round the ear....lolDS1 born June 2000

Fluttery - I am happy to report I haven't indulged in any chocolate today. I am worried I am going to give birth to a caramel egg so was trying to hold off for a day. Good effort on the food front since you came in from college. I love discos!! Now you have got me wanting some.
Good news about your exam aswell. xxDS1 born June 2000

Still here, although now accepted the induction idea and waiting for Thursday. Sadly the hospital wouldn't do a sweep for me, they told me it's not usually something they do (?)
We went to Ikea today and bought new wardrobes, we sort out the donation to Heart FOundation for the old ones after Elvis is here and then build the new ones. I did feel so sorry for DH, I wasn't allowed to help at all and then he caught his finger when putting one of the flat packs down
I'm still driving at 40+10 although DH insists on driving if we are going anywhere together. His car is easier to get into and out of than mine as mine has bucket seats :rotfl:Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Just back from my 34 week appointment, LO is head down but was not happy at being palpated, mw was a little rough for my liking
Had some bad news at work today and the picture that's building is strongly telling me I won't have a job to return to in a year because of our funding situation, thankfully DH's post is relatively secure but I am gutted, I have a friend who has been in a similar position and found job hunting worrying and stressful with a new baby, with the added uncertainty of having less bargaining power for flexible working with being new to a company. I guess I'm worried about having finding something new hanging over my head when we should be enjoying our LO0 -
Hi everyone 38 weeks this Thursday had my midwife appointment and she confirmed fully engagesdppd and to go ahead with raspberry tea, pineapple, sex and curry and anything else that can help start me off as baby appears to be ready.
She also said our baby should not go past due date, I really hope so.
She also said their is nothing stopping him from making an appearance.
At the moment I'm feeling extremely tired and have had to start napping, I've calmed down from nesting as I simply have nothing left to wash pmslDs2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

Icey - sorry you are still here but at least the end is in sight. Hope the OH isn't too injured after his brush with furniture.
CNOM - all systems go then. Time for the pineapple and curry diet.
Anymo - sorry to hear about the job. I can understand it is stressful when you need a bit of continuity but I'm sure you will get there. Glad all was well at your appointment and naughty midwife for being overly zealous with bump.
