Good idea re the plastic sheet. Maybe we should keep one to hand too. They had to break my waters when preg with Ben so I'm hoping I don't need to worry at the mo. my hubby did suggest hanging around mothercare a bit longer incase they broke in there lol. Is it a myth or do you really get lots of free stuff if they break in one of the stores?

Good luck to all the ladies due soon!

Lucy thanks for the advice on the newborn thread! Read it too late unfortunately.

We had a waterproof sheet in our bed whilst I was pregnant.

My waters went in the bed with DD3, soaked armpit to toe lol! DD2 they went in the car on the way to hosp, i was on all fours in the back of the car so they went all up the door and window! With DD1 they went in bed, but was only a trickle. I have got a shower curtain under my bed sheet atm ;)

Not sure on the free stuff?? i guess some stores might, but a place like Mothercare might have it happen that often they might not give u alot :( Maybe someone should start a thread asking if anyone got any free stuff coz of where they went into labour hahah! Tbh i`d love a dramatic start to labour this time, seeing as how the others all been when i was just at home lol! xx

I`ve spent soooo much time over the last few weeks bending over on purpose just to try to make this baby be the right way round its not even funny! I also have a 3 yr old, and she is the eldest toddler i`ve had whilst being pregnant lol! I think its really unfair of ur midwife to imply that back to back babies are due to lazy mums :( You should ask her why women have transverse babies then ;) hahah! Is there no way u could agree to trying a vbac, as long as baby is def the right way around? Do u want to be able to give birh naturally or would u be happy to have a csection? Personally i`m more scared of the operation than having a breech baby!!!!!!
Oh, and my cousin had a back to back baby, who did turn just before labour started, but she ended up coming out sideways!!! Luckily cousin had an epidural so didnt feel the forceps!!! xx

I'd sooner have a planned section than an emergency one, that's for sure but no way to tell. I recovered pretty quickly from the last one although I did have to have a blood transfusion so was in hospital longer than I would have been otherwise. Not sure if they would agree to scan me nearer to the due date, the consultant said 'there's no way to tell for sure until you're in labour' so I guess probably not!

Would prefer to deliver naturally if possible but just don't want to go through it all again and still end up in theatre! Problem is that I really don't have a positive mental attitude about it, although I guess I could work on that :)

Hope DD2 is over the sickness soon and doesn't pass it on to the rest of you.

    Sally xx

Aww Sally, I guess with it being number 2 theres a chance things could all go ok, however would be like having a first i presume in terms of actually giving birth? How old is ur 1st born? I guess u needd to take alot into consideration. At least if u do have a planned csection, u can get all the help/support in place u`ll be needing to help look after u all. I desperatly dont want a section, 4 kids to look after, school runs and not being able to drive for 6 weeks = disaster here! Plus, we get a new car in March which i wouldnt even be able to drive which would be gutting! Of course if i/baby need one to happen then it will, and will deal with it all after. I hope u come to a desicion without too much stress. Btw, i am also a pessimist, anything better is a bonus that way ;)

DD2 is in bed asleep bless her, she hasnt eaten all day and has had just 1 small cup of lemonade and a smaller cup of squash :( can see 2moro not being much better tbh :/

Going to go for a nice hot Radox bath, just incase anything does happen tonight, not likely but hey ho! Hope everyone is ok xxx

  • Flutterby. The Tommee Tippee Warmer/Flask was on the baby aisle with the rest of the bottles. It was marked up at £10 on the shelf but scanned at £5.
The cooling pads were marked up at £1. x

Emmylou. Hope your DD gets better soon x
  • Hi Ladies,

Hope we are all ok, labour vibes where needed. Glad to see Emsbet, you went quiet on us! x

    Well, what a few days!!

Midwife yesterday, all went weel except baby is now back to back, grrrr - she can jolly well turn back round lol.

Got home (mum had been at my house all day as my mothercare delivery was due) to find it still hadn't come, this was 1:45. At about 3:00 a van arrived but only had 4 of my 7 parcels, the pram chasis, pram carry cot, parrasol and cot bed matress. It was missing the Wardrobe, Dresser and Cotbed. Delivery man tells me it will come seperately as it needs to be on a 2 man van and he only brings small items as he is a 1 man man van! Ok I say and go back to waiting. Delivery was set for anytime between 8am and 6pm. At 6pm, it had not come, so I rung the Mothercare people. Spoke to a woman (you can imagine I wasn't happy - waited in all day, took tim off work, and the delivery has been booked for 6 months). She was rude to me and then in the process of transferring me, she cut meoff - Oh dear me was I mad at that point. Rung them back, and spoke to an obnoxious young man, it turns out that they had loaded the van late and decided they would deliver Monday instead - oh dear me, I was even more mad then, it's my last week at work next week and CANNOT have anymore time off!

The result was that it would be delivered to store Monday and we would have to collect it, otherwise it would go back to the warehouse and take up to 6 weeks to be re-issued -I don't think so, baby will be here in 6 weeks!! He told us we would get a gesture of good will! Too right we will.

Went into Mothercare this morning,to tell the nice ladies in store what happened and to make sure they knew to expect the items, they said they would give us a £10 voucher to cover our fuel for collecting, and she will make sure we get no less than a £100 voucher as a gesture of good will! Chuffed with that. Then went off for a day out shopping, and later on got a phone call from her saying that she had complained to head office on our behalf, and the furniture had already been delivered to store and we could collect tomorrow - bless her! So I can build furniture this weekend after all - but really, why us lol!

Had a super big shopping day today, got loads of baby clothes, nappies, a trolley holdall to use as my hospital bag, some maternity clothes and a set of cotbed bedding. Oh and about 6 months worth of persil non bio and comfort pure.

Oh and on the Nappy front I am so so so OCD! (mix of pampers and huggies) I have 166 size 1 nappies, 546 size 2, 632 size 3 and 572 size 4. That is 1916 nappies - even at 10 a day all along, by my reckoning that is about 6 months worth give or take!! Way OTT I know but we are trying to stockpile for a year as money will be really tight when I am on Mat Leave for a year, and all shops we got them from have said they will swap if we need the next size up,so far got them from Tesco, Asda and Boots! I also have 104 packs of baby wipes - 2 a week at least, will get more along the way if needed!!!

Oh and came home today to a letterfrom work telling me I have got a bonus this year for all my hard work - get in!!!!!!

If you read all that - well done lol x x

    Hello all x
    Labour vibes to boldies xx

Emmylou- Hope LO better soon. I have one hand on the iPhone and the other on LO stopping him falling off cushion when bf lol. It gets tricky when onto bottle afterwards as usually drop the phone lol. It is tiring in the night can't imagine how u cope with several children

Snoopy - read all your post ! If U get the £100 should soften the blow of carp customer service... Have words with that LO to move ...

Re plus size peeps i ended up buying some big (fully granny style) cheap knickers from b and m and bonmarche do packs, they pretty much did me until the end and afterwards as stomach still here lol
If your going to bf then u can get big nighties with spaghetti straps which u can hoik down over shoulders. I did get some spaghetti strap bf ones from mothercare, they are not a big size but they are stretchy Nd were in sale so might be worth keeping sn eye out and trying on when in sale (ones I got were twin pack for £11 but they were old stock). Also had checked night shirt but is a bit too warm though at the mo. also pretty much lived in maxi dresses with spaghetti straps, still wearing them now, very forgiving, ok for bf and love the big waterfall cardies in material that is not too hot, good for wrapping LO in afterwards when u snuggle on sofa!
Also re maternity pads bought always old style night option ones for a £1 from b and m u do get through a lot at home. As they were old style more padding for stitches .
