Vest or onsie underneath a sleepsuit/babygrow. Scratch mits a must, altho some babygrows now have them built in the sleeves. Babies generally only need one more layer than yourself. Hope this helps x

Thanks! I need to sort out properly what I have and what I need. I bought a couple of bundles on ebay for tiny baby, and seem I have ordered all vests so I will have 30+ vests for tiny baby!!!!! I am obviously out of control. Well, less washing to do...

Ok, I need to get now some sleepsuits in tiny baby, and then go up sizes. I know we will get gifts, and I know MIL already bought few more things. So, I only want to buy some simple cheat bits, and then see what I need after the babies are born. If I get a basic set of babygrows and vests for 0-3 months, I think we can then stop and wait.

Ok, I have a question. I have no idea how are you supposed to dress the baby. I got so many vests, that I am not sure what will I do with them. How and when are they used? (Just shows how silly I am).

I got some sleepsuits (long sleeves and full legs). I have a few outfits. I have plenty of hats from Huggies packs.

What do I really need? I know I need some socks and scratch mittens. I know some sleepsuits have scratch mittens attached, but wheneer I looked in the shop I never seen them. Which brands do this?

I am struggling. And I am supposed to start sorting out my hospital bag!!!!!!!! I can't do that - I lost all my organisational skills when I got pregnant. We know babies can arrive anytime really, and I am still putting off ordering the pram/car seats/bases/mattresses for the moses baskets, bedding, etc... I just keep looking at things online, but don't reach for the credit card!

    Gin,
Sainsburys TU do sleep suits with scratch mitts built in. I have a load ogre them as they are quite cute!

  • Gin, I am glad you asked that, I was also wondering having never dressed a baby before! :o I started packing my hospital bag 3 weeks ago:rotfl: - it even has drinks and dextrose sweets in it!

 Charli, I was also wondering about the tens machines. I was thinking of going for the mamatens mytime as it times the contractions for you. It is more expesive than the other at £34 rental or £62 to buy but I think I'll have enough on my mind when the times comes without trying to make a note of the contractions! We are hoping to have another baby in the future so was thinking I might as well buy one, I would think you would get a decent amount back.

Thanks Laura, I'll google that and have a look. As you say, it would be good if it could time the contractions for you, I suspect it may be hard to think straight when it is all happening!

I am leaning towards buying also for the same reason. I am hoping we will be lucky enough to have a second baby so that Pip isnt an only child. Although at the moment I cant think of anyhting id like to do less than fall pregnant again right after this one! LOL!
  • Ha ha, yep, pregnancy is no walk in the park thats for sure! It was actually my OH that bought it up the other day when I said about Ebaying my maternity clothes he said to hold on to them for the next one. Really shocked me that he is keen on the idea of another already, I'm sure once the sleep deprivation sets in he will change his mind! It was me that had to twist his arm for this one :0)

Ok, a little worried about my weight. I've always been slim, but put on about 2 stone since I got married 3 years ago, so this is the heaviest I've been but I keep reading that I should have put on something like 25 pounds which is a lot! I just suppose everyone is different, I'm only small as well 5 foot 2 so maybe that has some bearing. Will be interested on my weight at the end of pregnancy and post birth.

Will have to pop into sainsbo's seeing as they have 25% off at the mo xx
