Oh Gops, living in he country is lovely, we are right on the very edge of town and all we can see from the end of out rds is hills and mountains :) We are very close to the Stiperstones which is all mountain walks! Its a !!!!!! when it snows tho, or u need a big store!!
Amymo, Ive got ur pain, so has someone else on here, its like a burning pain, worse than a chinese burn? Mine goes thru to my shoulder blade too tho, and is so much worse in the evenings. Dr will give u painkillers and thats about it :( if it does go thru to ur shoulder, a hot water bottle might help xx Only good thing is it does go once baby is out!!
Sammie, I dont know what u mean?? Me have fatty foods 2 days in a row hahahaha! The sausages and baps needed using up, thats me excuse and i`m sticking to it ;) x
Oh and gops i think u might be seen at 34 then 36, 38, 40 weeks? My antenatal notes have a timeline of when to expect apps in and thats what mine says for 1st time mums. I`m cast off to the side as i`m seen to have "been there done that"! lol xx

I want to know more about the Lindor choccies for £1, were they reduced or scanned at the wrong price?? :)

According to my OH they were reduced - I completely failed to notice. We got some for Christmas and really liked them so when he saw the reduction he grabbed them :)

Oh - I am glad to see you!! How is it all going? I really feel for you. Even the thought that I 'might' have to cut out chocolate (and sugar in my tea!!) is causing me sleepless nights!! I really truly feel for you.

With regard to my question - dont worry if you dont know the answer... I saw diabetes nurse today to learn how to test my blood for the next two weeks. I have to do it 4 times a day, before breaksfast, and then 2 hours after breakfast lunch and dinner - but what I forgot to ask was (not trying to rub it in honestly) what about snacking inbetween meals (tends to be choc or biscuits!) ?? If I have to wait 2 hours after every snack, I will never get a chance to check my blood!!! As I am only being monitored, she told me to eat my normal diet. So I am guessing that I test blood after main meal, and snack as normal?? What do you think?!! I have left message for hosp to call me, but dont expect a reply anytime soon!!

I will be ok when I get my head round it properly. Was trying to be brave, then I just couldn't help having a sulk lol - bit different with my testing as have already started the drugs as they were in no doubt I have it, just don't know how severely yet, and will likely need to increase meds, but they do that in conjunction with the blood results.

I was scared at how high my results have been so have cut out snacking all together which has left me tired and mardy and hungry, but the test should be done in line with your normal diet to begin with,

So - have brekky, make a note of when the time is 2 hours after that (same for dinner etc) and then test your bloods, but eat/drink whatever is normal for you inbetween, as then it gives them an accurate idea of if your diet is good or bad, and if the sugars are too high.

It will only mean changing for you if the sugar levels turn out too high.

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE BY THE WAY - just the instructions I have been given.

I see my nurse and consultant again Monday - so will know more then, just stressy at the moment as this potentially could be our only pregnancy, if it takes 4 years each time or just doesn't work again this could be it, and I was until last week enjoying it! Anything for a healthy baby, just takes the shine off it.

Take no notice of me anyway - hormonal and in sulking mode! x

  • Snoopy - You have every right to be sulky. Four years of TTC, and then just as you feel you have got past all the hard work and can actually enjoy being pregnant, something else gets thrown at you - its perfectly understandable. As you said, you just have to keep remembering, you are doing this for the babys health. (This coming from the woman who will be utter hell to live with if it turns out I have to watch what I eat)

I would imagine that cutting out the sugar in your body is also causing you to feel grumpy - I know it would make me be a right miserably moo!!!

I bet in a few weeks, you will be on this forum telling us all how wonderful you feel, and how you highly recommend cutting out sugar and how you wish you had done this years ago!!!

However, if you feel the need to rant - please go ahead and do it, we are all here for you. Big Hugs :)

I had protein at 34 week app then nothing a 36 week app. I give up peeing into the bottle now, and brought a jug from poundland to pee into and then pour in the bottle haha! So much easier, as long as its clean its fine ;) My old midwife used to just give me the stick to pee on, that was even easier!! Glad urs is clear :) xx
