    Welcome Vicky,
I'm sorry you're having problems, it must be really worrying :( I would keep your midwife informed as they've got a lot of experience and can order tests if need be.

Early in my pregnancy (about 11 weeks) I ended up with severe pain. I had a scan and everything was ok. The sonographer suggested that the pain was due to my ligaments softening in preparation for the baby growth making it much easier to overstretch them. The pain continued for about 4 weeks.

I didn't have any bleeding but I kept my midwife informed because I worried and she was very good at reassurance - it meant I knew if there was something was worried she'd tell me and make sure I got the tests/support needed.

*hugs* hope the pain settles soon and there isn't a problem.

It's an epic novel :rotfl: Glad it's over and done with, also glad I didn't do a birth plan, as none of that would have been included.

  • Thanks for the reply's the first time i rung my midwife was when i had the pain at 11 weeks and she didnt really seem interested which upset me more, i'm going to the docs tommorrow and hoping they will do something, i did also visit them when i was 11 weeks with the pain and to be honest totally unexpected i seen a male doctor and he was great. had to call a female nurse in to check my stomach but they were both so caring and i really liked that someone actually cared so hoping to see the same doc tommorrow and see what they can suggest this time. thanks :)
  • Great birth story gilly, the more I hear about epidural the more I think I might have one if we manage to get natural labour, I've never been keen on the whole needle in the back but if I'm going to face it for a section then I might as well either way.

I hope everyone had a good day, my lovely friends threw me a surprise baby shower today and I got loads of fab goodies. :j

You don't feel a thing, they numb all your back before putting it in :) and obviously with it being your back you can't see what they're doing :o

can i just add i had an epidural on my first son, they recommended i have one because i had pre-eclampsia and it would bring my blood pressure down and to be honest it was the best decision they made :P i couldnt feel a thing, i didnt even know when i was having contractions to push, they had to tell me. i couldnt feel anything when i had it put in but soon as its in you get a freezing cold sensation down your back. i would certainly recommend having one, not sure if i will have one this time though because i'm hoping that if all is well i'd prefer to go home rather than stay in hospital but it does take a bit of time to wear off.

  • Emsbet - not sure if it's all sweetners your avoiding but Sainsburys only use natural ones (sucrolose) as opposed to artificial ones. Just wanted to say as I found artificial ones like aspartame sent me loopy (!!!) but I'm personally fine with the natural ones! x x

Loved reading your story Gillyx Love and hugs to you and your little man x x

    Evening ladies

Been in bed most of the day with a headache not sure what that was all about!! Got up this evening and washed all the babies clothes :D now my lounge smells lovely as it is all drying on the airer and radiator.

Getting a bit scary now as the weeks seen to be flying by!! (remind me I said that when I'm moaning next! :p)

Labour vibes to all the boldies!!
