  • At the MW on Wednesday - but it's definitely kicked up a notch in the pain stakes this evening - now it's at the point where I'm actually crying out with pain when I attempt to walk around the house by evening time... can't help but worry if this is what it's like in January - how the heck am I going to be functioning by the middle of May? Consultant very much had the "Ok so we've managed to find some misery caused by your weight to use as leverage to make you suffer" approach to it all really.

    Hi Dizzi

Just wanted to offer you some hope. I had started to get SPD at 21 weeks, generally just a bruised feeling downstairs. It then got worse and worse and spread into my left hip. I found it incredibly painful and hard to move around. It was like this for about 8 weeks and then it has started to ease off. I still have the bruised feeling and if i do too much like a lot of driving or walking it flares up the next day but all in all it's much more managable. Hope you get sorted x
  • Dizzi, I was in excrusciating pain like you, but like the above poster it did get better when I reached 7 months, hopefully it will be the same with you.

hey - an old wives tale about the pram.. My Mum said the same and insisted that the pram comes to hers when its delivered. Given she's paid for her I relented!

re: pram choices.. I did a good bit of research online before actually going to see any - including checking out the Which! website as well as prices etc etc and I came up wih three options to check out more thoroughly:

Mothercare My 3 or My 4
    Mamas and Papas Sola
    Babystyle Oyster

On testing them all out we went for the Oyster.

Don't know if that's any help!

On Pushchairs- Kelda, good taste on your short list! We got the M&P Sola, and a maxi cosi cabrio fix car seat, with adaptors to use with the Sola. Been using it to take LO for a walk, and we are loving it! We have the pram bit to use with her whilst she is so small, and we use that with the overnight matress in our living room for day time naps as well.

The Sola caught our eye originally as it was the Which? Best buy with great reviews, and the maxi cosi car seat was a best buy car seat too (which the M&P own make wasnt)

On SPG/PGP, i developed it very badly around week 30, could hardly walk, and could only lift my right leg about 2cm off the floor. Ow! It was mainly caused by the way beanie was lying, with almost all her weight on my right hand side, which was twisting and putting pressure on my right hip. I did lots of swiss ball, and lying on my left, and managed to shift her more over to the left/centre, around week 37, and the pain was soo much better.

*hugs* to snoopy. Not sure this will make you feel any better but at least you know it should only be a short term thing *hugs*

Thanks for the pram comments - any more are welcome :) We had a look at the My3 and My4 when we went with our friends to buy their pram - they went for the Silver Cross Surf. We didn't really like either of them. Also wasn't particularly sure about the Oyster.
Have heard good things about the Sola so hoping to be able to have a play with one on Saturday.
I think the pram is likely to be our most expensive and most researched item - the range is huge and it's likely to be used alot so don't want something which will fall part within 6 months :p

*hugs* to everyone in pain/suffering from sleep deprivation and those who are waiting for baby to arrive. Hope you find relief soon.

Yeah the oyster and the Sola are both on which? Best Buy. And the Mothercare is almost on it.

In the end the only real reason for choosing the oyster over the Sola were:
    1. I liked the colour options better in the Oyster
    2. My husband decided he had wide fingers/hands and the oyster had more room between the handlebars/frame and the bit where you clip the carseat/pram/buggy bit into the frame than the Sola! he said he wanted more room as otherwise he'd be afraid he'd drop the carseat/buggy/pram! :rotfl:
