Ginvzt - have you checked Argos?DS1 born June 2000
Baby Boy due 17th April 20120 -
Hi all,
Well what a day - get ready for a half rant!
Got to hospital after not eating or drinking since 9 last night, at 9 this morning, went striaght in -was pleased about that. Got to see another new but really lovely old fashioned midwife. She started on taking the first blood sample from my left arm.
Didn't work.
She started on taking blood sample from my right arm.
Didn't work.
She told me she needed to try the back of my left hand.
Didn't work.
She tried the back of my right hand.
Didn't work.
She called in another midwife who strted again on my left arm -IT WORKED!!!Yay. So I drank my jug full of manky warm lucozade. Then the first midwife said lets do your midwifery checks, so climbed on the bed, measured my tummy, but differently to the way the 26 week midwife did it, and I according to her I am 30cm - was only 24cm 3 weeks ago, I surely cannot have grown 6cm in 3 weeks? And now feel like I am too big (she tutted) as I am only 28 weeks! Anyway, then she listenedto babies heartbeat which was lovely and strong, it never fails to amaze me how beautiful it is.
So then she sent me off to sit in the waiting room for 2 hours, had magazines so was fine but blummin hungry.
Went back in after the 2 hours and the good midwife said, I will do the blood sample this time, so I said phew, only she then proceeded to miss again, and had to try yet again before it worked. So by this time, I had been stabbed 7 times and had steam coming out of my ears.Maybe wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't starving!
So then, the other midwife opened up the packet with my anti d jab in and said "wow this is a big needle" - well that was it, I went into meltdown mode, and stamped my feet. lol
When I got over myself she gave me the injection and (sorry ladies) but it blummin stung like nothing I have felt before, she then said - oh it has stayed in a lump under your skin, I need to massage it in, and proceeded to batter and pummell my arm. I am now bruised and battered and achey and not in a good mood. Glad today is over.
Sorry rant over!!! x x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

Can't remember! Will check again.
I am now in the hotel, having dinner. Had carrot and corriander soup to start with, steak with giant chips and onion rings. Most of the chips and onion rings were left on the plate, as I am considering having a desert... Maybe I shouldn't? But then it is not comming out of my wallet, so I am very tempted....
Hmm... Apple pie o lemon drizzle cheesecake?..Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Dizzyblonde, since you are having pelvic pain, etc, ask your consultant or midwife for referral to physio. I got a 'tube' to wear to help with my pain, and wa told that once my bump gets bigger and if I feel i need a support belt to come and they will give me one, there was no talking about paying for it! I expect them to have different sizes as well. Also, I have been offered pilates class and gym ball class. I have been to each and now have the exercises to do at home to help with the hip pain. It is all about the strength of the core muscles and I think it might be helping a bit. It is also MSE if you get the support belt for free!
Now, on a related thing - does anyone know where I can get 55cm gym ball? I checked in Tesco yesterday, but they didn't have them. I think I looked online as well, but either no luck or too expensive.

I think the positive part means you are rhesus positive so don't need the injections.
How's the bleeding?
xx
Thanks hun, that sounds like it makes sense. The old blood has pretty much gone now and baby still as active as ever. Going to see the midwife on monday so will just ask her to have a look at my cervix so if I bleed again I don't need to panic (not that either of us will want to be doing that position again before baby comes!) Oh dear Snoopy, that does sound like a day from hell. When I had the GTT my appt was at 9 but they didn't see my til 10. By the time 12 came I could have cried with hunger and baby was going crazy after the lucozade. Least it's over now and you can cross it off your list, cos I know you like your lists!!!!

Ice cream, sorry. I am not a fan of custard... I am absolutely stuffed.
My MIL organised a scan for me for Monday! It will be at their local hospital, and I am quite looking forward to see the babies! OH was talking to her last night and told my experience, and mentioned the private clinic in their local town, but she organised one in the main hospital instead. I don't mind, as long as I get to see the babies! Maybe we will actually find out for sure what flavours we are having!
Rit, I am going back to my room, and might think about having the bath... First need to finish some work and send of to my boss, as won't have a chance to so this tomorrow and then I am on holiday! Tobermory fair, even now it feels like the holiday is starting, as I am with the client tomorrow and I love coming here! The people are great, and it is always good fun.... Well, compared to my usual day!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Dizzi I had SPD last pregnancy (sure it's only a matter of time with this one too...) and I didn't get on with the support belt at all, I found it really uncomfortable. My MW gave me a massive tubi-grip which wasn't exactly glamourous but I found it did help some and those things will stretch to fit all sizes. Might be worth asking for one of those? I was also referred to the hospital, don't recall who I saw but was given some exercise sheets0
