Sebastian was born via c section at 12.15pm on the 31st January weighing 6lb 13oz and 50cm long. He looks pretty perfect and cute, and I'm really happy he arrived safely and quickly!
My waters gushed approximately 12 hours before his arrival, he had returned to breech earlier that same morning, but as I didn't dialate they gave me a section without much persuasion. My PGP and previous reduced mobility has made recovery more of a challenge, but it is still early days. Breastfeeding has been tough going, as I've had to supplement with formula, but I'm still hoping for breastfeeding to be the longer term goal. Having a real live baby still feels a little weird, but he is really lovely and I use any excuse for some skin to skin contact.

Congrats Redhead, labour vibes to boldies, hang in there Mozzy, and hugs to everyone who needs them!

Congrats on baby Sebastian, I love the name shortened to Seb :)

  • Ok now I am confused. Spoke to the community midwife who said the bleed wasn't normal and I should go to the hospital to get me and baby checked over, so I phoned the hospital, said exactly the same thing and they said it was probably becuase of the erosion and just to call again if the bleeding goes back to fresh blood or movements are decreasing. I am sure the hospital are right but the first midwife made me feel awful for just treating it like it was fine and scared me. I guess I'll just have to keep a good eye on movements. How many should I be feeling at 28 weeks?

Ds2 trod on my foot by accident this morning and I cried!! It didn't even hurt as he is such a dinky thing but everything is getting to me at the moment!! Dp keeps telling me "not long now" I know he is trying to make me stay positive but it still seems a lifetime away for me!! Xx

You mean as in breech? transverse etc? Mine does at every appointment since 28 weeks.

Hope you are not in too much pelvis pain hon.

Laura, when I was at the Feto-maternal unit the other day I mentioned that baby was moving but quiter than normal. the midwife asked if I'd felt 10 movements per day which I had so she said that was fine. My community midwife always says that if you have any concerns at all about movements then to ring up to go in to be checked, she won't tell us how many to count as you know what is normal for your baby. I'd keep an eye on things and if you're not happy with how much baby is moving then ring back and say you've had a bleed and now have reduced movements. I'm sure they're probably right and its nothing to worry about but I know its very hard not to! Also, you could always ring your own midwife back who told you you should go in to be checked and tell her what they said, she might push for them to see you if you're not happy with not getting checked out.
  • Had my midwife appointment this morning, baby is transverse which is why I am only measuring 29cm still (should be 35) Booked in to see consultant next Friday to arrange ECV, scan and other options.

Its no really worry as my last 2 have been transverse and flipped the week before I had them.

Midwife measured my tummy at 28 weeks but isn't say if baby is breach etc, hopefully she will today. I don't have a clue how they can tell anyway as it just feels like a big blob when I feel my stomach!! :D

  • Congrats on all the new arrivals.

I just had my 38wk appointment and all seems well. Baby is still not engaged but pointed in the right direction :-D

feeling all energetic today coz of the sunshine even if it is cold.
Managed to pick up a duvet cover from the charity shop for 50p a nice bright yellow and green gingham so I ahve some material to make a more exciting cushion cover for the v shaped cushion I got from aldi the other day.

Looks like this afternoon will mainly consist of a bit of washing up and some hobbies :-)

Hope everyone has a good day

My 28 week appointment was this week she palpated and then said ooh your baby's head is just here, and had her hand round LO's head, very strange to see!

Reassuring that you're measurements sound like mine ravenlady as my LO is transverse so I'm measuring small too...

Laura, my midwife says about ten movements a day too, but it wouldn't do any harm to get checked out just for your piece of mind, if you're under midwife care it's their responsibility to put your mind at rest so maybe call back and put it back onto her?
