Lady M - what have your readings been so far? Normally smaller people (such as you and me ) have low blood pressure more commonly than high, and I know I have low blood pressure (2/3 readings so far in low range, the other a whisker over).

My blood pressure has been low so far but my mum was small both before and during pregnancy, which is why I wondered.:o

I'll try and get my notes soon to get the proper readings. x

Hopefully then no high blood pressure problems for you. Maybe your mum is predisposed to high blood pressure for some other reason and they only noticed while pregnant?

Anyone got any ideas where to get those bra-extender thingies (just the extra hooks/eyes) - I'm sure I saw some somewhere but can't remember where!

Re. solutions for cramp all I can suggest is exercise – pregnancy yoga, walking, swimming etc. On my pregnancy yoga DVD there are some leg exercises where you just rotate your ankles anti-clockwise then clockwise, alternately point and flex your toes, shake your legs, that kind of thing. I suffered with cramp a lot until about 4–6 weeks ago then it mysteriously stopped, not sure whether it's something that naturally goes in the later stages of pregnancy or not as I'm not really doing anything different!

We got the white mothercare baby furniture set yesterday for only £440 – here's the link to the cot where you can see the whole set http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Summer-Oak-Cot-Bed/397555,default,pd.html The cot was out of stock online so we could only get the 20% discount (ending yesterday) by doing the babyplan in store but paying off straightaway so no admin fee. Everything should arrive in a month's time – the cot (which converts to a bed), the wardrobe and the chest of drawers. It's white with oak on the top. Looks lovely and I'm sure as the baby room is buttercream and white it will really go with the room. A pity that we have no spare rooms though so we basically lose the study to baby! Oh well fingers crossed for the next house

My mum had high blood pressure in pregnancy. As did my sister who went on to develop pre-eclampsia with her first which is why she pushed me to get checked out earlier this week when my ankles and feet swelled up. As it turned out my bp was fine, low even but then it has been all pregnancy.

I think they say to just keep and eye out for the symptoms of high BP/ pre-eclampsia and speak to your mw if you ave any.

LadyM - my mum told me the same thing, she did have pre-eclampsia but when I checked with the midwife she said there is not known to be a link to what your mum had. My bloodpressure has always been low - average and still is.

Not sure even if there is a link they could do much about it. BP is monitored at every appointment and so they will intervene if they need to

My blood pressure is quite low at the moment. Lower than what is normal but my midwife said that is better than high blood pressure. I just wasn't sure if you could have low blood pressure and it suddenly go the other way and become high!

I'm seeing the Obstetric Consultant tomorrow anyway so will have my blood pressure and urine checked then. I just worry too much.

bellola I was thinking just the same thing the other day. I think we should probably sort it. Or read that as, I reckon somebody else should sort it!
