Thanks ikkle, I'm not too worried, I just wish everything would go totally smoothly for once.
I'm exactly the same hun, seem to spend as much time at the hospital as I do at home lol, will be worth it in the end thoughx
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Right we are scanned. Baby estimated at 6-10lb already! Geeze. My bump is tiny how am I hiding a baby that size in there?! LOL. I will be skin and bone when she comes out lol. They have offered the ecv and i'm booked in for Tuesday 2pm. No food after breakies at 7am ... *Sob*. I will be ravinous! ... So we are half way there to a vaginal delivery. Lets hope she co-operates and it works! Only down point is it's not the consultant himself but his registrar as he is on holiday ... bad timing eh!0

AMC - yes, I agree, the booking system here is much better. I never had to worry about when my next appointment is and I was even able to pick the time. Hope your MW answers her phone soon so you can get it sorted.
Thanks silly moo! I must have called her 8 times today and always voicemail. Tomorrow morning I'm going to call the midwives' team and see if I can get advice from someone there. Then I'll make another appointment for after 40 weeks just in case. I think it's pretty bad though that I can't get a response when I'm first-time pregnant.0 -
P.S. I'm sorry to say that the Mr Benn lampshade I raved about arrived and is too shallow to fit over the lightbulb in the light fitting. Getting the larger one would be no better as they both seem to be the same depth. I'm not sure if it's only meant to be for a lamp rather than a light fitting but at nearly £16 I think we need to be happy with it so I'm going to have to return it to Amazon. What a shame! The search continues for a nice lampshade for baby ... on the plus side, the yellow colour ('Dawn') looks really nice in the room so far. My poor husband has spent the whole day in the study plastering bits and then painting ... when he tried to paint a bit he'd plastered less than 24 hours ago the plastering started coming off which resulted in moans from the room ... fingers crossed it gets sorted :rotfl:0

littlemissgiggle - just another perspective re induction, you dont have to go through with it, you could wait another few days if you wish, they cant push you to do anything, if you and bubs are fine you could wait if you want.
Clarissa62 - yes visitors, its a tough one, i know if my mum found out i was in labour she would be down the hospital like a shot. me and OH have decided no visitors at the hosptial - hopefully will only be staying one night. might extend that a bit longer at home if we can get away with it. i havent quite explained our thoughts to my mum or MIL not sure whether to just keep it quiet. i have stipulated on my birth plan - no visitors at the hospital.
Twinkle - i measured on the 90th centile when measured last week at 36 weeks so am keen to find out what i measure next week
Rebekah - glad to hear its not straight to a c section and a vaginal birth is still on the cards. hope she turns on tuesday.
my baby is really starting to feel heavy on my lady bits hehe could be here in a couple of weeks which is just crazy - it will be really exciting to meet baby and find out the sex
am currently stuffed after having a chinese.
4 days left at work!!!

Well I think my nesting instinct has finally kicked in today - it's the first time I've had the energy in a long time to do much cleaning, and Moon's standards and mine aren't exactly alike - plus he's been doing all of the cooking etc since I've been pregnant as well as working full time, so cleaning has been somewhat on the back burner until now. Spoke to Moon about the windowsill and he's cleared it all now for me (hope my Mum notices next time she's over), and he finished off hoovering the stairs as my wrists and back started to hurt towards the end. Need to check on the towels in the tumbledryer in a minute as hopefully they should all be done. Have decided that if I'm off work tomorrow and not feeling exhausted by today's efforts, that I'm going to do a deep clean on the kitchen (freezer desperately needs defrosting and organising and the cupboards haven't been done for a while either). I used to be a regular on the flylady thread, so must get back into focussing on a room a day where possible. Have told Moon that if we each do half an hour every night when we get in (even if we just clean in the ad-breaks for an hour-long programme each evening) that we should be able to get on top of it all by the time Bean arrives.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Wow this thread moves quickly. I can't keep up!
Getting seriously fed up of work now. I'm due on Thurs 4th Oct. Is there an earliest date I could start maternity leave (not including holiday etc) and a latest date I would need to start by? My boss is absolutely clueless and just shrugs whenever I ask her about dates etc
How long is everyone planning to be off for? I want to win the lottery (not a lot, even just a couple of thousand would change our lives at the minute!)0 -
Oh and also whats everyone view on carboot sale baby clothes? I was really against it at first, thinking I wanted everything to be new and perfect, so I bought lots of baby grows, sleepsuits etc from mothercare, H&m, mamas and papas etc and probably spent a small fortune. But I went to a carboot at the weekend and a woman had loads of lovely barely worn baby clothes. I got about two carrier bags full(in loads of different sizes) and she charged me £8. Makes me think about how much money I have wasted0

As long as you don't have the baby earlier or need to take time off for pregnancy related illness (and there is no insurance reason at work), you can work right up until your due date moneypuddle. The earliest you can take your maternity leave is 11 weeks before the due date. You do need to give notice of when you want to take your maternity leave by 15 weeks before your due date, although this can be ammended as long as you give your employer 28 days notice.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
