I've just got back from the midwife. She did the measurements of my bump for the first time, and I'm measuring small, only 25cm I already had the growth scan booked for next week which will give me a better idea what's happening. In the past I've measured on target until 35 weeks, then growth has stopped at that point, so I'm not sure what to think about baby being small already. Hopefully all will be fine though, and I did get to hear baby's heartbeat more loudly and clearly than I have in the past which was nice

Hun 2 weeks difference isn't very much at all, and it's not very exact when they measure anyway, it could just be that bubs is laid in a different position etc so please don't worry x

I can't wait to get measured again. First time I was on 50% line, then I was on 90% line...wonder where we will be next time. DH and I were both early and 7lbers, so wonder if this little man will be the same.
Only just found out today that practically nobody in my family for 2/3 generations has managed to breast feed. Hope that's not an omen.

Hugs for those who need them - sounds like there are a few of you at the moment.

Have been doing some cleaning today, and my Mum came around and started trying to "help" with little things in the kitchen that I can't make decisions on because they are Moon's things. I appreciate the place is a bit of a mess, but it doesn't really bother me, and I told her that and that I'd much rather Moon focus on getting the nursery ready for the baby that is arriving in 2 months than worry about little things like whether the windowsill in the kitchen is clear. Now I'm feeling stressed about it all and I wasn't before. Definitely going to have to say that after the birth we will visit other people rather than them coming to us, as I don't want to feel like we're constantly being looked down on because things aren't like a show home. What with my Mum's obsession with tidiness, and my MIL's obsession with breastfeeding, I'm now feeling a bit overwhelmed.

When do these measurements start then? is it at the 16 week midwife appointment?

i am tired too. i am covering a girl and her client has kept me so busy. i feel so tired. we were supposed to have drinks to celebrate us moving building, but i just want to go home and cant be bothered to go for a juice anyway. lol.

i just sent hubby a link to mothercare saying there is a sale and he picked out some furniture. so sweet as he hasnt said anything like that before. awwhhh im all gooey right now.

Clarissa we have decided that we will not allow any visitors while I am in hospital. We would also like to stay at home for a week without any visitors but that will depend on how we are coping on our own. But I have already warned my parents and MIL that when they come to visit, they will be expected to help around the house and NOT with the baby.

I don't have to book my own appointments as the MW tells me when to come next. And she has booked me in for 40+1 so I think go ahead and arrange an appointment for after your EDD. If your LO is late at least you won't have to worry about when you'll get to see your MW.

Thanks, maybe I should, just not sure now whether to try to book it exactly a week after next appointment (40+4) or on the Thursday (40+6) as it's with the rubbish midwife at 40+4!

It would have been easier if the midwives booked me in in advance so I didn't have to and I was guaranteed an appointment, but unfortunately they don't. Stupid system. I've been trying to call the half-decent midwife all day and she's still got her phone on voicemail, even though she's supposed to be working today :mad:

AMC - yes, I agree, the booking system here is much better. I never had to worry about when my next appointment is and I was even able to pick the time. Hope your MW answers her phone soon so you can get it sorted.

Sexymouse - I've only ONE week left and my home still doesn't look like a show home. It's not dirty, just untidy with lots of things lying around. Imagine how much messier it's going to be when the LO comes! And I am not going to make an effort for the MW/HV coming in although my mum will probably disagree once she gets here and sees all the mess.

Thanks ikkle, I'm not too worried, I just wish everything would go totally smoothly for once.

Rups - they start measuring the bump once you are past 26 weeks, although I can't think of the proper word for the measurement. That is lovely that your hubby has picked bits out, mine is only interested in punky outfits. Puschairs/furniture etc hold no interest at all for him.

Cake.... That's all I Been thinking about all afternoon! Just stopped at telco and got a Victoria sponge, lemon tart and stew berry cheesecake. Hopefully baby will want one lol.

Feeling so hungry at the minute and extra tired too. Six more weeks!!!
