Very quick post - sorry haven't had chance to read back.
Alexander was born on the 15th June after a 15 hour labour resulting in an instrument delivery. I can't say that the pain is forgotten or I'd be willing to do it again any time soon but the result was worth it :):) He was 3.31kg and is beautiful (I know everyone thinks that of their baby but he has gorgeous deep blue eyes and lots of dark hair).

We only left the hospital yesterday as Alexander had a congenital infection so was in special care having antibiotics but all is well :)

Will hopefully read through again and give more details soon.
Hope all is well with everyone.

I am in this situation and also have a friend who tried ecv first but it failed. Seems my hospital has a good rate of success. And I think I want to give it all the chance I can to avoid major surgery.

I think I'd rather opt for a section - my mum had 4 and a few of my friends also had sections and did not complain. My mum actually had two emergency sections and two elective ones and she says a section is much easier than natural labour! I think I'd prefer a section to forceps but I'm probably a bit weird!

Congrats thrifty , mrsmanda and choc lover :) x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
  • Wow it's like the other day birth announcement all coming at once!! Massive congrats choclover, mrsmanda and thrifty glad to hear babies have all arrived safely. Looking for to more details/photos in due course :j

RHJ I can't remember who on here had that moxibustion (?sp) thing or if it worked. My OH is kinda vacant when talking about things, we're obv further behind but a bit of input would be nice! I think it's because he's not much clue about these things, but my mum bought him a book!!

Welcome Aida and congrats. I started using that cocoa butter stuff then bio oil. But I wasn't religious enough with applying. To be fair I've had stretch mark before pregnancy do knew I'd get them. I've got a couple as high as my belly button. Maybe if I'd used the stuff twice a day as it says they'd be better. Good luck with the oil though :-)

SM hope you've got a more relaxing weekend planned, sounds like a busy week.

Sorry if I missed anyone there. Eyes are half shut. Time for bed me thinks, so night everyone. Hope you sleep well xxxxx

I'm using hemp body butter from The Body Shop, sporadically though as it's DH's job to do it :D and he usually forgets, so maybe once every 7-10 days.

No stretch marks yet (27 +4) but I think really a lot of it's genetics and you'll either get them or you won't no matter what moisturiser you use? I didn't get any with my 2 DD's, but my bump is a totally different shape this time with a boy - much rounder like I've shoved a basketball up my jumper - so all the stretching is happening out front, rather than all around like with the girls. I may not be so lucky this time! My belly button never popped out before either but there's potential for that happening this time I think

Congratulations to all the parents of new babies on here!

Thanks for adding me on there emsbet. was just seeing how lovely and well organised the list is. :0)
i also booked my 20 week scan today and am meant to ring up the mw to book up for my 16 week meeting but i will do it tomorrow. :) or monday. :)

its still sinking in. feels surreal esp after the way i have been worrying. silly me. :0) i am still taking folic acid and my vitamin d. shall i continue thie for a while yet?

You should certainly be taking your Vit D, Rups. The folic acid won't hurt either, although it's not critical. If you take a pregnancy multi-vitamin like Pregnacare (supermarkets do their own make too) this will give you everything you need. Bear in mind you also need to continue with the Vit D when breastfeeding.
