Congratulations Mrs H !
What a gorgeous baby, and a beautiful name! Makes me want to meet my little dude right now! Enjoy your mummy cuddles!
Hello more newbies, welcome!
I swear I was number 30 a few days ago, moving swiftly up the list to 26!
I second that about H&M maternity clothes, I've found them the best and quite cheap especially as you're not in them long. Their leggings are great! Although, I've been to my local one every week for the past 3 weeks and they've only have XS or XL grrrrr
Been shopping with my friend all morning, got all my hospital bag bits sorted! Got to go back another day as couldn't get everyting done, I had to keep sitting down every 5 mins felt like baby was going to break free! So low!
Hope everyone is ok, got a nice long weekend coming up!
Anyone got any Jubilee plans?

Beautiful baby Mrs H!
I love Jojo Maman Bebe for maternity stuff. I got 2 lovely dresses from there and have had many compliments on them. My maternity stuff comes from a variety of places – Next (online), Dorothy Perkins (although just a size bigger, smock-style tops, not specific maternity) and Jojo. I found it frustrating that many shops don't have a maternity section so you have to go online. M&S is guilty of this and their online section is pretty poor and many things were sold out when I happened to look. Jojo all the way!0 -
Awes she's gorgeous. I had a bit of a scare early. Had bad period type pains for about two hours on and off while
In cinema. Could hardly walk. Gt home and lay down. Then I had to I to toilet and tmi alert I emptied my bowels. Think I ate something dodgy. Feel so much better. But was ready to phone midwife.
Hope everyone has some exciting plans for weekend. I'm in with revision all weekendlove you lots like jelly tots0 -
Hello all, sorry to just jump into the thread again:o but I was hoping for some advice/opinions.
I'm 38+1 and my midwife's clinic is booked solid now for 3 weeks!! and I haven't seen her since 36wks. (The Bank Holiday means a clinic is missed entirely)
Do I just wait for labour to start and turn up at the hospital mat unit or demand the weekly appointments we're supposed to have at this stage? I was supposed to have a sweep at wk 39 too.
I left a message with the mw on her mobile at 9am about this but no reply at all and now it is the Jubilee w/e so not sure if I should badger her or not.
This is my 2nd pregnancy and last time I had quite a difficult EMCS birth so i kind of need the support now.
I feel a bit lost in the system iyswim.:(0 -
Lady legs, is your midwife part of a team? Do you have a central number you can ring? I have a number for the community midwives in my area so if I can't get hold of mine I can speak to one of the others.
((hugs)) Rj, hope you are feeling better now.

Hi Emsbet,
Yes, I think the number links back to the main hospital - maybe at this stage any midwife is better than the one I've built up a good relationship with...
Think I'm just shocked that they are all booked up so far in advance and having a phone message ignored when I'm a hormonal blob feels 10 times worse.
I'll phone the main number and grovel like any other desperate 3rd trimester nutcase.
Thanks x0 -
It is bad that you can't get an appointment. I struggled to get one when I needed one the week after easter as they were all booked up and I tried phoning 2 weeks in advance!
I hope you manage to get through to someone even if it is just for some reassurance

Ladylegs, if you're worried/concerned/just want someone to talk to then phone the labour ward. I can never get hold of my midwife (though she is good at getting me a clinic appointment) and the community midwife office is only open for 2 hours on weekdays so I usually just call the labour ward with any queries. They're very good, patient and reassuring0
