fluff I also got sent for a growth scan with only 1cm difference - i was 35+ and measured 34 but it was inconsistent with my previous measurements so they sent me in just in case - midwife did go to great lengths to say it was procedure only and was probably fine.

its not as inconsistent as my last one though, the b1tch of a consultant i saw last thurs wrote "39cm" on my notes, despite not coming anywhere near me with a tape measure. Cue the midwife on tuesday totally freaking out when they though id dropped from 50th to 95th centile in the space of 4days, until I pointed out my notes were not true....another reason I don't like my consultants!

Whoop emsbet you will love it. Unfortunately I can feel all my tension coming back already with silly revision. I keep panicking that I have my finals in a week and I'm not worried lol. I really should be lol. Cat find a comfortable way to revise. Currently propped up in bed surrounded by notes and taking notes. Bum keeps going numb tho lol

I feel for you rj. I can't stay in the same position for too long and am constantly shifting about and getting up and down. Fortunately I don't have anything I have to do, I can only imagine how hard it is to be revising too!

Haha, I'm quite happy to have our little tinker at 38 weeks too fluff!
Are you going to be drinking raspberry leaf tea?

Was funny, on the way out of the surgery yesterday OH turned to me and said, I think we should have more sex to get you used to a 12lb-er coming out......I nearly punched him but I was laughing too much! He certainly rates himself!

The way my MW is talking she's letting things progress naturally but has said that 1 in 4 women have to have a C-sect so be prepared for that eventuality.

It is lovely having another scan when they are big. Can see that heart really beating and all the bones, love it :)

turtlemoose, I think it must be in their job description, I've seen 2 different consultants and both of them have been d!cks!!

emsbet that sounds amazing! I remember around 24-28 weeks I just wanted constant back and shoulder massages, but had to put up with the OH doing them :) x

Question for you girls. At my 26 week midwife appt she said I was measuring 31 but only wrote 29 in my notes. I don't have another appointment until 34 weeks but I was wondering I should ask for an appointment before that as I measured myself today and at 29 I'm measuring 33 weeks. This is above the 90th centile in my notes chart. Any advice ?

Yep, I'm on the raspberry leaf tea :)

I'm quite looking forward to the scan if I'm honest. Although I've a tendency to worry excessively, at the end of the day, if the baby's measuring a bit big for dates, it's simply means the baby's a bit big. Compared to what can happen during pregnancy I should really try to chill out. I asked the MW what was likely to happen. She said one of two things: either they'll say the baby's fine for its dates, no further action, or they'll agree it's a whopper and the consultant will probably want to induce at term (which is not unlikely anyway because of my BP).

    No biggie is it really?

One thing with the scan though... how do you avoid seeing its bits?? Perhaps we should just be done with it and find out the sex :D

More confusion! My being 1cm over (or below) puts me right outside my scale! I've got such a narrow margin that the slightest deviation puts me below or above the 10th/90th percentile.

Honestly, it seems that everyone does things differently! You were a whopping 5cms over your dates and are still coming up 4cms over. I'm a poxy 1cm over (less than because I'm actually 36+1) and I've got to go for a scan! Madness.

I think I will pick some up tomorrow when I'm out. Is it rank or quite nice? :o

I was worried too at first but both the MW and consultant said its quite normal and that they prefer the baby to be measuring up big rather than small. Chunky monkeys are generally nice and healthy! Also, the fundal height measurment is just a 'guide' and dont forget theres all that water in there too!
Could mean we're both going to go swimming when our waters break?! :D

At the growth scan she literally got all the measurements, then turned the screen round so we could see baby and said, 'nice strong heartbeat' then bubba turned his back on us and we saw his lovely little spine :) and that was it. Our sonographers aren't the friendliest people in the world anyway. Didn't even mention the sex, or if we knew etc!
They need to go to charm school, seriously.

Have you got a date for your scan yet?

At 33 weeks, our fat !!! bubba weighed 5lb 11oz according to the scan and his femur bone length was off the scale so think he's long more than fat tbh!
Either way, as long as he's ok I don't care, I love the rolls of fat on their arms and legs, could just eat them!

rjh I dont think you should worry hun, but if you really do want it checked, give your midwife a call x

Just to make things more difficult I've got an abdo scar between my boobs and tummy button that makes it really awkward to find my fundus. TBH, I'm surprised she's referred me but heyho. No date yet but should be next week sometime.

According to my growth chart today (36+1), this baby weighs 7lb 11oz  Mine's also got long legs but then so has husband (37in inside leg!).

Raspberry leaf tea is nice but then I like fruit teas generally. If you don't, it might be worth sticking with the capsules.
