¡Hola!
Thought I had better show my face
Glad your PC is fixed Hester, and you sound a little better Molly ((hugs))
(((hugs))) Mrs_Mix. Lou, LW Pen-Pin and everyone else hurting, ill, or just not in a good place.
Adelight & Jackie-0's DGS - Good Luck with the exam. Just pour custard over the stale carrot cake, it will be fine!
Hope you are all managing to keep warm.
We have on of our neighbours leaving, and going back to the UK, mainly due to health reasons of her DH and they are not old enough to go on Spanish National Health, and he has too much wrong with him to go on a private scheme. They would have been OK last October, but she is in the band who no longer get their pension at 60, but will not get it until May 2013 now, and he is younger than her. Because of his health they have got a housing association flat, so have somewhere to move back to. Anyway we are all going out for a meal with them tonight, so we have had a collection, and getting them a pressie, which I went with another neighbour to find yesterday, we did eventually get one.
Dinner last night was a repeat of the nights before, I always cook 2 days worth of veg at once, a trick from my working days to have a quick dinner on a Monday, so that was good. DH is getting on labouring for the wall, the other side is turning white today.I have been asked to go round and get a card signed today, memories of being back at work!
DS's crochet blanket is coming on, 10 squares joined together now, another 2 done awaiting sewing up, and another 1 almost done. Think that leaves another 3 at least to do. Sat crocheting while watching Goodbye Mr Tom last night. Always love that film.
Last night while watching the TV we could hear the rain outside it was that heavy, then during the night the wind was blowing wildly. This morning got up, no wind or rain, everything dried up, cloudy though and 12C, supposed to get up to 15C later, and then the good weather is forecast to return
Better have some brekky, fancying poached eggs on crispbread.
Take care all. DG
n.b. Gintotmelinda Sorry to hear about your DH's redundancy. We finished early (neither of us still not old enough to officially retire), but we both had PP's so that made a big difference, and had been planning/saving for it. However, it is surprising how little you can live on if you try. How long do you have before you get your OAP, I now get mine in Jan 2013, with DH Aug 2014.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning all,
Cold and frosty here too, dont have to go out till later on though, so things should have defrosted by then.
DG my sister is in Spain atm they arrives yesterday, she said it was pouring with rain and cold when they arrived, so hope today is better for them.
Gintot, so sorry to hear the news, its a big shock issn't it, you will get through it though, xxx
Miffy hugs to you xx
DW + WM are on, will hang the washing out as its a nice blowy day again, got loads dry yesterday.
Need to hoover my car out today if I get time, it desperatly needs it, also walk the dogs ( I have sisters dog for the week), and have a tidy / clean through.
Dinner tonight is pie made with some left over shepherds pie, so really a meat and potato pie, will do a quorn mince one for dd. I got some ready made pastry for 10p a block a while ago, so just need to assemble it, will do jam tarts with the left overs.
I have been really trying on my diet this last week, watching everything I eat, and only lost 1lb, not really happy with that, will have to cut down even more.
Went to Dr with dd yesterday as she keeps getting migraine, she has already cut out caffine and chocolate :eek:now he wants her to cut out cheese, which for a veggie is even harder, he has also prescribed beta blockers, which worried me a bit, but he assures me they will be fine.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning All!
Very cold start here. DH has taken the dogs out and I have cleared up the kitchen etc. May go and see the Maggie Thatcher film this afternoon, then friend taking us both out to dinner this evening. Another year older... DB sent me a copy of "Senior Moments" which looks fun.
Ought to go to the gym today but not feeling particularly energetic yet! HW fairly under control so may just curl up with coffee and a good book instead!
Gintot - sorry to hear about the redunandancy, hope you manage to see a good way forward. I was lucky as I was able to access my state pension at 60. Feel very sorry for all who had expected to, but now have to wait longer.
Hope you all have a good day.
take care, and keep warm!Resolution:

Morning all
Another beautiful frosty morning here, really fancy having a wee dander out to take some photos, as its so lovely by the Canal and River, but Im still doing full battle with the coughy/sneezy bug, so will have to see how I am in a bit - poked my head out the door when I let Pusscat #4 out to wee, and the air was so cold I started wheezing straight awayAnd Pusscat didn't stay out long :rotfl:
WM done, little bit in TD and the rest on the airer. Really need to make sure it gets ironed later. Tea is going to be something (but what??) from the freezer so minimal effort there. No other plans today, Im sounding like a right lazy m00
Stay safe, stay warm, and have a good dayDon't put it DOWN, put it AWAY!You can't expect to Fly if you're still wearing your pyjamas! :j:j:j0 -

hi all
Thanks for your good wishes and encouragement.
DH gets his OAP in 4 years time and I am 57 and won't get my OAP until I'm 66 as I am in the group of women who had been going to retire at 60, then 64 and now 66 from last October! However we have a little money behind us and DH has a private pension and we are waiting to see what the redundancy package is as DH has been there 40 years.
Gruel anyone?
Happy Birthday Beemused-it's my DD's birthday today too.

gintot - hugs coming your way.
Red ruby - ask the doctor for maxalt melts. Put one under your tongue at the first sign of an attack and you can nip it in the bud. Only saying as mum has had migraine for years - due to female cycle, and some tablets doctors put you on can make you gain weight! (or they make you really hungry....). I find that I need to take great care with my sleeping pattern and make sure that I am never without a drink as I can get suddenly thirsty. In the past I've found a VERY low carb diet very effective, but that may just be me. Have also been having Chiropractic treatments!
However this morning I've had 2 mugs of coffee, 4 pain au chocolates (oops! diet tomorrow!) and wrestled the pup to the vets table to have her stitches out - what a baby she was! Could hear her screams outside the vets!! She'd only been spayed. Attacking the kitchen this morning, so had better get on - WM finished.
Good luck to those with exams. xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
