surely that number (07092870782) is a personal numbering service, which can cost alot per minute?
    look at this http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/ioi/numbers/num_070_guide#acc070

well i know this looks like a personal number but it is infact the number for digital fax which converts ur fax into an email .. and i have sent my bill direct to redemptions .. but i would advise people not take a shortcut by faxing and go thru the right channels by posting the bill ..

    good luck claimers
  • That fax number isn't a shortcut, it is an official (but unpublished) fax number that can be used for cashback. These offers do after all rely on you jumping through hoops so it's not as if they will make it easy and tell you things like this! The information came in an email to me from John Busby, Customer Liaison Executive, following a complaint I made to Charles Dunstone's office.

I just ordered a 11mth free deal from CPW before Christmas, but I could find the cashback voucher on their cashback site. Also I heard that CPW has changes their cashback policy late last year, all they need is you send back the copy of 4th bil for cashback, is this true?

    thanks

Well their cashback policy is that pdf, but i suspect what you may have heard was actually to do with their change of address from wednesbury to dunstable. If you still send mail to wednesbury i believe its being forwarded but best to send to dunstable.

Well if that fax machine converts it into email, why can't CPW just give us the email address? I can easily scan my bills or even better, find an electronic format of it on my network's website and email it to them myself!
    Much much easier!!

Its standard with all these companies offering cashback, making you jump through many hoops to get the promised cashback. As its in their interest if you miss a cashback. They are trying to make money from us the consumer.

Fortunately in my opinion cpw is one of the best cashback companies. Mobile outlet and osps are much more rigid and strict and more complicated.

  • I'm with them right now and can offer you some information they don't publish.

The well-known bit is submit the right bills straight away. You will know from your contract which bills to submit - typically on a 12 month contract it's your 4th, 8th and 12th bills. Don't change your tariff without checking the terms of your offer as this could invalidate it.

Here's the unpublished bit. You are allowed to submit photocopied bills, and do this in case one gets lost in the post. More importantly, if you have access to a fax machine, you can submit by fax. Every department I spoke to told me I couldn't until I emailed the Chief Exec's office. I then got the answer faxes are acceptable, and you can fax them to 07092870782. You can check receipt of your fax (after 24 hours) by calling 02890576597.

This is by far the most reliable way of doing it, although I'm sure that phone number you can call to check your postal bill has been received too, I have never submitted a postal bill though it's been by fax here.

an anybody confirm or clarify if it is the same fax number for E2 Save?
  • If you phone CPW (or E2Save / OSPS) they will give you an e-mail address which you can use to send in either PDF versions of the appropriate bill or screenshots if you're on O2 CPW. All you then need to do is phone (0800 049 0049) and check a few days later that they've received it.

The great thing with CPW is that you get 60 days to claim, most others are 21 or 30. This gives you a bit of breahting space.

In my experience the key thing with cashback is ABC - Always Be Chasing. It is a hassle but then I save about £700 per year (2 contracts). Well worth it in my view.

  • i had a cashback deal a couple of years ago with 3 thru cpw (12 months 1/2 price) all we had to do was send the 4th bill which was full rate (first 3 were auto 1/2 price) and they sent us a cheque for about £120 which was 1/2 line rental x9 for the rest of the year, but you should always read the small print

  • A few months ago I got my first CPW chequeback in the post.

I have to admit, after reading some of the horror stories on MSE i was doubtful whether or not CPW would pay up. I photocopied my 4th bill, typed a quick letter, attached that little chequeback claim slip you can download from their website and posted it off recoreded delivery.

But they remained true to their word.

~week later i got a txt to confirm they had got it.

~week after that i got another txt to confirm they were processing it

~2 weeks after that the cheque for £70 arrived!!

    No complaints here!
