Well, none of those are really bog standard RBS branches are they? I would imagine that if you qualify for an account with any of them you are more likely than not to already be with them. The number of people wanting to transfer their account from any other RBS branch in England to one of those must be insignificant, so my pointer to stclair's advice stands.

You don't have to 'qualify' for an account with Drummonds. Their account opening processes are identical to all other branches.
  • I live in England but my main account is in Scotland. I am not happy to go to Santander, so all I have to do is contact on the number provided, arrange for the form to be sent and transfer all other RBS business to RBS at the branch where my main account is held?

You might find it easier to open a new RBS account and switch / transfer / close your existing account.

You might find it even easier to use the RBS transfer process to relocate your England accounts to Scotland. See the above posts #2 and #15.
  • Thanks to all posters on this topic as OH has just requested account be moved to Scotland.

I was trying to say there are alternatives to a Scottish branch and if you miss the cut off date for requesting an account to be transfered that does not have to mean you will be shackled to Santandire.
I opened a second account at a Scottish branch and also transfered my existing RBS account to Child & Co as it is useful to have a separate account for bookie transactions.

I would like to transfer my account to either Drummonds or Child & Co - do you have the sort codes? Or should I call RBS and ask for them? I would like to have branch access, and after having briefly tried Santander, I would never go back.

    Thanks all.

You've only missed the cut-off date for RBS to transfer the account automatically. There's nothing to stop you opening a new account at a Scottish branch of RBS and transferring over all your direct debits etc yourself, and then closing your English RBS/soon to be Santander account.

Alternatively, you could open an account with an English branch of NatWest and use their switching service to transfer all the DDs and SOs for you.
