Just checked my account online (saveonline 9) and the unit prices shown as in effect from 27th February 2012 are absolutely unchanged from those I paid on my December 2011 bill?

Yippee! :T

Don't touch my SaveOnline 9.

If all goes well according to my fantasy, the energy futures will keep falling, due to global recession. This will enable E.On to offer FixOnlne XX, at 25% online discount, starting from September 2012, up to 1st April 2014.

I hope they manage to cut prices for the prepayment customers,,,,, i would love to have the meter exchanged but currently i must give them money to exchange it, even tho it was installed by the previous tenant. They can at least give me a decent price for the fact that a pay before they even give me any electric and gas.

Hi nuttyp

Prepayment customer's are included in the price decrease. You could see a drop in both the standing charge and price you pay per kWh.

Hi mysterons

Sounds like your prices haven't changed this time as they were already reduced by greater than 2%.
Your plan promises to be at least 2% lower than our standard prices. Some will already be reduced by a greater percentage so you might not see a change. Others will be reduced to bring them in line with our new standard prices (and of course maintain the minimum 2% reduction).

All of this depends on which particular version you’re on and where you live, as all our electricity prices vary by area. You’ll receive a letter to let you know your new prices effective 27th February.

If you find that your current plan is no longer suitable for you, you can switch plan at anytime without incurring a cancellation fee. All of our SaveOnline plans carry a cancellation fee if you change supplier before the contract end date.

I checked my tariff today and will be getting a 1% discount for electricity from 27 Feb 2012. Not the 6% I was hoping for from the headline reduction rate and, of course, no reduction on gas!

Hi Blackdog, what plan are you on?

Have you checked both primary and secondary rates?

Interestingly, despite E-ON's 6% price cut, and 5% cut by British Gas (to which Track & Save's prices are linked), E-ON's website now shows Track and Save 9 prices as 1p per unit MORE than on my bill in January!

Hi Connie

Our Track and Save products offer customers a guarantee that their bills will be cheaper than British Gas' standard bills for existing customers.

The individual unit prices per kWh(primary tier 1 and secondary tier 2) may differ, either up or down, but the way this balances out means the overall bill is guaranteed to be cheaper.

The guarantee applies to customers with average annual energy usage (based on Ofgem figures) or above.

Sorry for any confusion Connie. Hope this makes it a little clearer. Give me a shout if you need any more details as will be happy to help.

Hi Amanda,
Sorry I only just realised you replied to my earlier post. I am on SaveOnline 11 and yes I checked "first unit rate" and "next unit rate".

Many thanks for your quick reply, Malc. As others have pointed out, it's quicker to get a reply here than from E-ON's website.

Firstly, I take back what I said about the price having risen between January and March - I was comparing VAT-inclusive prices, with ex-VAT prices - sorry!

However, the fact remains that the price has not dropped.
Although I appreciate that the price is cheaper than British Gas prices, as guaranteed, I had expected that when British Gas reduced their standard price by 5%, the Track and Save price would also drop, even if not by the full 5%. I am disappointed that it hasn't dropped at all.

(Having said that, I am still a fan of E-ON - an excellent website; easy to change pricing plan at the click of a mouse; easy to keep track of usage; much better customer service than other suppliers I have used; and Track and Save still comes out among the three cheapest plans from any supplier on comparison websites, as far as my usage pattern is concerned.)
• so all of the customers getting discounts for direct debits, dual fuel, online discounts; paperless billing and all the other non standard tariffs, recieve no reductions at all then? do they ( thats me ) remain on same tariff?

That's not completely true because I have calculated that my electricity will reduce by around 1% (subject to Amanda from Eon confirming this, see post 36 above) so you may also be getting a small reduction although it would seem that not many people will get the full 6%.

Thinking about it perhaps it would have been clearer if this thread had said "Eon to cut electricity bills by up to 6%" or even "Eon to cut some electricity bills by up to 6%".

I’m sorry too Blackdog, would like to have answered you sooner. :o

Same principal applies here as with SaveOnline 9, looks like the prices have gone down a little but not as much as 6%.

This is because the SaveOnline guarantee is to be at least 2% lower than standard and prior to 27 February they were already reduced by a greater percentage. The new prices and % decrease vary by area so sorry I can’t be more specific without having your account to hand.

Hi Connie,

I can see why you’re confused by this it’s a tricky one to explain.

The Track and Save guarantee is that your bill will be lower than British Gas and that might not be clear from the prices you pay.

It all depends on how much gas and electricity you use. British Gas use a different billing threshold to us and it’s that that makes the difference.

Putting your annual use in the comparison site and comparing the details of your plan against our standard and British Gas’ standard plan, should help clear things up. (if it hasn't already, that is!)

Thanks for the great feedback too, will pass it on :j

Not necessarily sacsquacco. The % decrease depends on tariff and area. Any additional discounts you receive for the way you pay don’t come into it. Check your old unit rates against the new ones or just give us call if you’re not sure

Hope this helps guys, shout up if need any more info :)
