MSE News: Eon to cut electricity bills by 6%

I think I switched to SaveOnline9 after something like SaveOnline2 finished. So I am not getting a cut? It was already barely a discount under the standard tariff! The a$£holes.
Makes me want to switch just to spite them.
Switch away from E.On SaveOnline 9?
Do you have any idea what unit rates you are paying?0 -
With Eon you can switch tariffs up to 8 times a year so don't have to stay on one product for it's life span.0

Not really. It's all in paperwork mountain somewhere. Would SaveOnline 9 be the one I switched to in September? I remember thinking it wasn't even the cheapest then, but I didn't want to switch to NPower and have their 'end of year discount' thing for the sake of a tenner.0 -
I pay SaveOnline 9 Tier 2:
Electricity 9.61 +DD+DF+VAT => 9.28p per kWh
Gas 2.948 +DD+DF+VAT => 2.8478p per kWh
You have to pry SaveOnline 9 out of my dead fingers.0 -
I got a phone call from EON yesterday trying to sell me gas/electricity and I was dirctly told that they have cut BOTH rates by 6% which appears to be untrue. Not sure if I should highlight this to someone as I have no proof that this was what was said?0

Well I'm not getting excited. After all the price rises, 6% won't make much difference, and they've only done it because the others have and don't want people to switch.
You wait, come Autumn they'll be announcing a price rise of 10%.

Just checked our SaveOnline 9 details - "If our standard Eon energy Plan prices change, your prices may also change. But they will always be at least 2% cheaper for 12 months."
- 'may' does not equal 'will' - it appears discretionary
- does anyone know if there is a comparison on their web-site between 'standard prices' and all the various plans they have had that are still current?
- is there anyone, anywhere who can check what they will charge - especially given the end of year accounting Eon does?

They don't have a policy of telling you what they will do,
which is always what they can get away with.
I expect:
1. E.On will try to sneak in a price increase for SaveOnline 9 on 27th February.
We will complain, maintaining that they promised no increase during this winter.
2. E.On will then offer me £10,000 to keep quiet, which I will refuse because it's not enough.
3. On further negotiation, I accept a £50,000 bribe.;)
4. Somebody else will stand up because I no longer complain.0 -

Wow, I managed to remember my Eon log in first time, and I actually am on SaveOnline 9 like I thought.
I take it it's good then? What do you mean by 'Tier 2'? Is this a particular tariff you're on but I'm not, or are you just showing the numbers for the units excluding the initial units?
Thanks!0
