Too corporate looking to me and less friendly - agree with all comments regarding the picture but the masthead or whatever you call it looks very similar to moneysupermarket's website in terms of the coloured links. Stand out from the crowd.
The font for moneysavingexpert I quite like.0 -
How about the "L" in BLOG being a £ sign?0

I thought Martin was wearing a straitjacket:, here :rotfl:

The masthead is much cleaner and clearer, which I like.
The shirt colour does you no favours in that photo, in fact the whole photo compares badly with the one just above in the newsletter.0 -
Sorry Martin, I'm not a fan of the new masthead. With no colour it now doesn't stand out from the crowd at all, plus you're effectively chucking away your brand image. I agree with everyone who has commented that the shirt is too wishy washy - you need a darker colour, maybe a deep green or blue? Also the arms folded do look defensive - maybe stick with a head/shoulder shot?
I think the responses so far have been very resistant to the proposed new design, and I'm hoping you guys at MSE Towers are taking them on board!
The site does need to be smartened up - it's always looked very cluttered and disorganised, but I seriously think you need to be really careful about how this is approached - the new design is very corporate, and in a way that is precisely what MSE is not.
I'll be interested to see the finished design... here's hoping we've all had a little input!
(Oh, and thanks for helping me become debt free!!!)

I like the masthead, but agree that the picture is too bland and the crossed arms aren't good.
A different shirt and a smiley, friendly pic would be goodI myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
I agree with everyone who has commented that the shirt is too wishy washy - you need a darker colour, maybe a deep green or blue?Purple is a potent color. In every society, purple holds a special place, and a special meaning. It is said that Leonardo da Vinci believed meditating in a lavender or purple-colored light was improved by a factor of 10. Purple is associated with wealth, nobility, stature, religion, piety, magic, and sexuality.
Purple is mixture of soothing, calm blue with boisterous, energetic red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic. Some 75 percent of small children choose purple over other colors.
It is said that purple was a favorite color of Cleopatra. It has continued to be a color associated with royalty, with high honor0
